Bottle. Close to pitch black beer with a strong light brown head. The aroma is roasted with some maltiness, and the flavour is gently bitter and roasted with a creamy maltiness. Overall a nice strongly flavoured dark beer with roasted and creaminess. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep brown to black color with red hue, light brown head. Coffee nose, roasted malt, liquorice, hints of red berries, wood and alcohol. Coffee, chocolate and roasted malt taste, hint of alcohol. Complex and long lasting. Full body, oily and velvety texture, warming alcohol.

50cl bottle from Discount in Milwaukee. Continues to be the standard-bearer for Milwaukee area craft beer stores! Served colder than cellar temperature. Pours a very, very dark brown with a brown head leaving some streaky lacing. Aroma has dark chocolate, espresso, chocolate liquour, some hoppy grassy/grain. Further in the glass, some caramel comes in strongly.Taste is of chococoffee, liquid chocolate, that dry grainy rye flavor and some caramelly malt. Medium to full bodied, and rich and smooth. Finishes quite long and a touch to the sweet side of bitter-sweet with the liquid chocolate & caramel taking top billing at the end. Nicely dry presence from the rye and certainly roasty bitterness. A fine offering from 2 very solid "dark brew" brewers.

Super, and I mean SUPER, creamy. Seriously as thick as old motor oil. Kind of sticky. Light, crisp carbonation. Drying with a nice roasted bitterness. Taste delivers dark, sweet fruits up front. Big chocolate, roasted malts, caramel, toffee, coffee, and a little licorice follows. Creamy chocolate is the boss of this beer, but its other parts compliment it wonderfully. Beautifully balanced. Hoppy tropical fruit flavor pops in and out as it warms.

(bottle - 500 ml) Black pour with a thick tan head. Huge roasty aroma with some nice bitter hints of coffee and rye toast. Flavor is smooth and roasty at the start and keeps that way throughout. Finishes slightly dry from the rye but has a nice lingering bitter bite.

Man what a great imperial porter. Takes me back to the first one I ever had. Aroma was so so. Deep dark chocolate with just a hint of coffee. Pour was a think ink back with a thin tan ring for a head. Taste was delicious. Strong dark chocolate with heavy black licorice flavors. Very big flavor. Strong bitter dark chocolate with the rye coming out in the finish. It was just enough to be noticed and not overpowering. Medium carbonation. Can’t say enough about this one. Great for the style and in general

Bottle. Poured very dark black with a dark brown head. Coffee, burnt sugar, toasted bread and a nice herbal aroma and flavor do a number on your senses. Thick, smooth mouth feel. We just started seeing them in Ohio and can’t wait to try more of their stuff

On draft at ChurchKey DC. Creamy body. Nutty coffee flavor that I moderately enjoy. A bit astringent.
