Nice rich color and head. Decent taste with coffee undertones in the aftertaste.
Not the best porter I've had, not the worst. Need to try more rye porters to judge this one properly.

Bomber. Interesting aroma. Some hint of rye but nothing of a porter. I'm not a porter fan but this adds a bit of chewiness. Has a long funky aftertaste.

On tap at Frisco Taphouse ($13/10oz): pours an opaque oily black with a creamy froth of beige head. Has a rich, sweet dark caramel malty nose with a touch of toasted rye and dark chocolate. Starts with robust fullness and plenty of chewy sweet dark malts with a hint of smoke and some raisins before a semi-sweet dark chocolate finish. True to style with good complexity.

500 ml bottle. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like roasted malt, dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, coffee, spicy rye, and some molasses. It tastes like roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate, rye, coffee, wood, and a bit of licorice. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s creamy and has moderate carbonation. It’s also smooth and easy enough to drink. I think this is a good overall brew, I’d certainly buy this again. $9.99 a bottle.
