Talking about porters, this is almost like a stout. So smooth palate and taste, almost creamy. But aroma and taste itself is very textbook like, although almost too smooth to be a porter. Still, there are those roasted flavors. Licorice, malts. Wide taste spectrum and sufficiently masked taste of alcohol. Sufficient carbonation. Despite of a lack of some edge (as a porter), this surely is the best of it’s kind this far.

No head and all almost. Coffee and some roasted flavor, a little tiny bit of sourness. Smooth as silk very easy to drink for the strength and bigness. Good. Serving:Bottle

Pours black with a small but thick head that disappears almost completely. Aroma of dark maltiness, some roasted notes, chocolate - refined and rich. Taste is light sweet and roasty at first, later moderately hoppy. Flavours of espresso, chocolate, rye bread; in the finish pine. Velvety, creamy texture and a nice, full body. Classy beer, very well balanced. Intense but not harsh, maltier and not quite as hoppy as Nognes Imperial Stout.

Almost black, brown head, lacing. Aroma: fruity, licorice, rye. Taste: roasted, cocoa, licorice, light spices, rubber, coffee, dark fruit, candy. Medium bodied, smooth. Nice, will get this again, depending on how limited it is.

Present from GT2. Pour is black with large tan head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is baking chocolate, fresh roasted coffee and Biscoff cookies. Yum! Taste is similar with the acidic coffee balanced out by a creamy softness. Silky mouthfeel and very balanced palate. Not too bitter, and definitely not to sweet. Quite dry. The rye really rounded this out quite nicely.

500mL from Bine&Vine. Pours clear, deep ruby. Massive, dense, mocha foam. Huge retention and complete webby lacing. Nose is Khalua, Baileys, waxy dark chocolate. Moves to cured black olive and animal. Taste is very dry, coffee acid, lemon, waxy dark chocolate. Dry, acidic coffee finish. Palate feels silky but still very dry and roasty. The longer I sit with this the better it gets. Not as olive brine heavy and harsh as Nogne O stouts and not sweet and decadent like Terrapin stouts. This is a great balance, no residual sugar, no off flavors. Very dense, melted chocolate bar palate. I guess one of those that is greater than the sum of its parts. Fiancé rating: 4.2

Bottle. BBE 10/02/2017. Pours black with a small ring of dark mocha-colored bubbles. Aroma is quite roasy: Sweet roasted rye malt. Like smelling a fresh loaf of malt rye bread or a batch of rye bread dough ready for baking. A light touch of ethanol is detectable as well if you look for it. Taste is somewhat sweet, lots of rye in the beginning with a lot of roast as well. Quite a bit of coffee on the finish with a touch of chocolate. Rye stays throughout. Dries up on the finish with a light touch of wooden hops. Chocolate and rye on the aftertaste. Palate is full and oily.

16.9 oz bottle. Dark brown with a big bubbled tan head; sheets of lace. Nose is chocolate, rye, dates and molasses. Medium to full body with a tang. Taste is coffee and milk chocolate, getting bitter with licorice, fading into a dry rye finish. Simple but well conceived and executed.
