Bottle. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt, earthy and rye aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark toasted bittersweet flavor with medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid complex beer.

.5 L bottle. It pours a very dark brown/black color with a frothy tan head. The aroma jumps out with a lot of rye, dark chocolate and potent piney/spicy hops. Theres a hint of caramel as well. The flavor has more caramel, dark chocolate, earthy rye maltiness and some piney hops. Very full bodied with lower than normal carbonation. Smooth. Hoppier than I expected and very good.

Pours slowly out of the bottle. Thick as oil. Dark, black beer with a big and dark brown, beautiful head. It has a sweet and fruity aroma. Mouth feel is soft, round and oily. Body is full. It has this long and balanced bitterness and coffee roastiness. This is a very pleasant beer. The smooth texture caresses your mouth. It feels lika a gentle hug on your tongue. A masterpiece.

Bottle b761. Black, thickish, nonexistent head. Big chocolate roasted malt aroma. Feels soft, vanilla. A bit of licorice, molasses. Very ’normal’ imperial stout like. Body is full, soft, thick. Long. Roasted malts, a bit of espresso. Some wooden flavours. Quite nice IS/IP. I’m not sure what the rye contributed to the flavour palette, but I guess it’s possible to sense some ryeness when you know about it. Otherwise a very nice black drink. Reminds me of Divide’s products.

Bottled. Pours deep brown with a large , beige head, that leaves a good lacing on the glass. Nose of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and licorice. Sweet flavor with a more dry and bitter. Full bodied, creamy texture and soft CO2. An excellent brew. ★★★★

Bottle. Pours opaque with a large, creamy and lightly bubbly tan head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is roast, earthy, and chocolate malt, figs, prunes, and raisin esters with earthy and woody hops. Flavor is malt dominant, lightly sweet dark chocolate, earthy and spicy rye, prune and licorice notes with a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

Bottle to taster (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; an oily black with beige lacing. Smells solid; malt and rye. Tastes like it smells with good viscosity and a nice rye tingle. Good stuff.

Rune (8582) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 13, 2012
500ml bottle, batch 808/818, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Bubbly, brownish head with fine retention. Rich lacework to the glassware. Jet black body. Grainy chocolate nose with an oaky touch. Creamy chocolate up front to the taste profile added by notes of grain, vanilla and cocoa matched by a tart twist to the ending. Warming alcohol. Good, even though I had expected a little more (on a dark polar night at home in Tromsø 07.12.2012).
