3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber brought back from Athens, GA. Fumes, dark chocolate, and grainy malt in the nose. Pitch black with dark tan edges. Winey, chocolately, cocoa, intiial / light prunes / thick powdery dusting of cocoa in the finish. Medium-heavy body, smooth and slick. Farily exceptional, as a porter. Somehow light, even with the high alc. and flavors levels.

10 oz pour. At Tyler’s Apex. good aroma. Soysauce. Chocolate. Dark orangy blackish brown color. Good head that faded to a ring. Minor lace. Bittersweet flavor. Thick body, oily creamy mouthfeel, bittersweet finish good, yet not one I’m getting excited about. Has too much of that soysauce.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A totally black beer with a beautiful, brown and weak head. The nose is very intensive, lots of salt liquirice, some smoke, liquirice, balanced sweetness, also some fresh fruits. Taste is rich, roasted, coffee, salt liquirice, still fresh, some fruits, balanced bitterness. Full bodied, low carbonation, smooth and pleasant to drink. A very typical Nøgne’s flavours, the strong and intensive,

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark body and a tan head. Nice aroma with malts and caramel. Tastes very good, has some roasted malts to it. The taste is very rich and full and it lingers in your mouth for a while. On the palate it’s very nice also, very soft feeling.
Overall, this is a great beer and I would recommend it to everyone.
