Tap @ DØE Øl Festival 2012. Almost black with small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and a little liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, liquorice, hops, medium sweet and a little bitter.

Bottle. Pours black with tan brown head. Nose and taste of rye, roasted chocolate malt, roasted coffee, vanilla and milk chocolate. Finishes quite dry with a rye/chocolate finish. Nice roast up front. Body is on the thinner side of medium for an imperial porter.

500mL bottle, pours a very dark brown / black with a medium tan head. Aroma of cocoa powder, oats, rye and light roasted - the rye and cocoa are most prominent. Flavour brings out the rye above anything, with secondary notes of baker’s chocolate, some coffee and medium roasted malt. Full-bodied, very soft palate, with very harsh rye on the finish. Could be confused for a harsh black IPA, though the rye is in place of the hops. Quite solid, though harsh.

50cl bottle thanks to Joes. Pitch black, opaque color, no head. Smell dark and roasted malts, moccha, dark chocolate. Taste dark and roasted malts, moccha, actually would say oatmeal instead of rye. Thick texture, medium to full body, medium carbo.

On tap at Patricks. Dark brown colour with a tan head. Aroma is fruit, coffee, licorice, roasted malt. Flavour is roasted malt, coffee, hop, rye, alcohol, coffee, cocoa, licorice, fruit. Full body. Nice beer.

Rich rye aroma, loevly full body. Sticky rye-bread everywhere. Yummy body, just so scrumptious. I love the rich rye that permeates the body. Fuck, fuck, fuck, this is a great beer.

Bottle. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt, earthy and rye aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark toasted bittersweet flavor with medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid complex beer.

Draft. Medium brown head atop black body with brown edge. Aroma is moderately sweet, roast, some rye, coffee, light bittersweet chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet, chococoffee, some grapefruit/earthy, light rye. Medium-full body, low carbonation, fairly smooth.
