Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - 500 ml bottle. Deep, very dark brown leading to a cable black with an initial frothy mocha colored head that thins but sticks around a while. Aroma has some nice licorice accents, some chocolate accents. a touch of rye mintiness. Flavor is full bodied and delicious with some licorice, coffee, chocolate, a back end of rye mintiness. High ABV hidden extremely well. Rich, thick sticky mouthfeel. Extremely solid.

Aroma of sweet malt, rye bread, dark chocolate, some coffee and lots and lots of roasted malt. A great creamy and full bodied porter that has some spice, dark fruits, lots of bitter chocolate, coffee, even got some cherries in it. At times it became quite creamy and had some sweeter chocolate, yes milk chocolatey in certain ways which worked very well with the roasted malts and nuttiness that the rye malt gives. As it warms, the fruity and chocolaty elements come to the fore blending very well with some spicy, boozy, nutty flavours.

Ett år gammel flaske. Myk og søt med litt krydret preg. Lett friskhet og mild bitterhet i avslutningen med mer sjokolade. Skikkelig god! Drukket til taco. (26.08.15)

Aroma has coffee, bitter dark chocolate and vanilla. Alcohol is present. Pours black with a small head that leaves beautiful lacing. Taste has medium bitterness and medium sweetness. Salty licorice, ash. Full body with average carbonation. Long bitter, malty and ashy finish. An excellent beer!

Deep brown to black liquid, outstanding creamy beige to brown head. It’s not laces, it’s a thick ring covering the whole surface of glass. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, american hops, earth, dry fruit. Creamy palate, medium to full body. Alcohol not obvious. The taste is bittersweet with all the notes of aroma present plus brown bread, brandy, portwine. Excellent balance. Smooth and rich. Very nice.

Collaboration between Nögne Ö and Terrapin, with a dense and regularly structured, creamy, yellow beige head and ink black colour, totally opaque at first, but revealing itself to actually be a hazy dark burgundy in the last drops. Pleasant sweet, spicy and malty aroma of warm chocolate sauce with cognac, gingerbread, dried banana, black pepper, rye bread, dried banana, kahlua, pipe tobacco, shortbread, toast, raisins, candied figs, hints of vanilla, red wine, dried grapefruit peel, liquorice, brambleberries, coffee beans, pine needles (i.e. American hops almost like in a black IPA but much more subtle) - something new seems to pop up every time I take a sniff. Tangy onset of condensed candied fruits, dates, raisins, with only a ’narrow’ trail of sweetness, paired with a deep rye sourishness and spiciness, soft carbo with a very creamy, velvety, thick body, flowing into the throat like fresh cream; a liquorice-like flavour plays somewhere in the middle, over a deep, thickly layered malt backbone, caramelly in the most noble sense of the word, nutty, bitter chocolatey and lightly coffeeish in the end, with just a dash of bittering espresso on the back of the tongue, further reinforced with peppery, piney, dried citrus peel hop bitterness, lingering fruitiness and warming, brandy-like alcohol; the overall impression is very malty but deeply, softly spicy as well (likely the rye effect mixing with the hops), with a perfect balance between sweet and bitter. Smooth, clean, pleasantly warming and technically perfect imperial porter. I am not yet familiar with Terrapin’s beers, but the Nögne Ö quality stamp is unmistakably there.

500 ml bottle from BierKompass. Pours black with a nice brown head. Aromas of chocolate at first with some spiciness and maybe dark fruits. Taste is really nice with chocolate and dark malts at first, spiciness and hoppy notes following. Medium body with medium carbonation.
