Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

Recommended serving temperature 16°C/61°F Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, and chocolate malt; Columbus, Chinook, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

23,5°P, 80 IBU, 10% ABV.

Editor’s note: Even though the label says "Barley Wine" in the States, the brewery usually says it’s brewed to be an IIPA. The American label was supposedly a glitch. In Europe it’s sold as an IIPA. But to save the admin crew some time dealing with user feedback, it’s listed as a Barley Wine.

Dark ruby with minimal foam, lots of yeast floating in the bottle. Full sticky body, astonishing mouthfeel. Nose dominated by caramel malts, raisins, plums, roasted toast, exotic fruits hoppiness and some chocolate, similar in the mouth fruity and caramel sweetness followed by heavy yet short bitterness . Great, heavy beer. Either a IIPA with full, stronger than usual, body or heavily hopped barley wine - for me it’s the latter, maybe would have a kind of different opinion had I opened it when it was somewhere around 10 C, not 15+. Would love to drink it 99 times more.

Opaque dark brown with a big tanned head. Strong caramel aroma, with dark fruit, hint of citrus, resin, bread and dough. Taste is mainly caramel with some roasted pinch. Creamy, rich texture with lively carbonation. Nice bitterness/sweetness forgoing each other.

Que rica. Sutilmenten dulce, envuelta en la magia de la potencia amarga enmascarada completamente por toda la potencia dulzona.

Lore (1072) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 29, 2014
dark brown colour, moderate sized creamy brown head; aroma of caramel, alcoholic notes, biscuit, herbal-citrussy-grassy hops and maybe some floral notes; taste of hoppy bitterness, less intensive malty sweetness, roasted notes, and herbal liqueur, bitter aftertaste; correct barley wine, but rather disappointing, than perfect...

Thanks to Stevencon for sharing @Proof, upstairs. Bomber, dark brew, mediocre label. Really comes off as a dopplebock. Lots of raisins, etc. Lost notes, need to flesh out. Very good.

Bottle of unknown age. Muddy rubby brown. Strawberry twizzler aroma. Red fruit and dry finish. Not super Hoppy. Bought 10 months ago but not bottle on date. As a beer very drinkable but not sure of the style. Interesting and worth a try.
