COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

Recommended serving temperature 16°C/61°F Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, and chocolate malt; Columbus, Chinook, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

23,5°P, 80 IBU, 10% ABV.

Editor’s note: Even though the label says "Barley Wine" in the States, the brewery usually says it’s brewed to be an IIPA. The American label was supposedly a glitch. In Europe it’s sold as an IIPA. But to save the admin crew some time dealing with user feedback, it’s listed as a Barley Wine.

From a 50 cl bottle. Pours a clear cola brown with an off white head that recedes with lots of lacing. Caramel hop aroma. Sweet caramel malt flavors and vanilla notes with a hop backbone. Highly carbonated mouthfeel. Smooth finish.

Nydelig

UPDATED: APR 9, 2013 Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a dark amber with some floaties in the bottom. Sediment slowly settled. Burnt almond and orange aroma with a slight chocolate and caramel hint. Fairly big bitterness with a pretty heavy body. The alcohol is concealed until the finish. Really enjoyable.

Bottle from the excellent Barley Wine bottle shop, Copenhagen - dark reddish/brown chestnut colour with a very small dissipating off-white head. Strong hoppy aroma and taste with a high dose of caramel roasted malts. Has a very sweet initial hit with a very strong boozy bitter finish. Pretty unique taste experience for me, so understand the various style interpretations. Really enjoyed it.

1L squealer from IBS, pours v dark nutty brown with a medium head. Smells.. of hops with bite, but with a floral hint in there too, dark fruits and chocolate. Tastes...caramel, hops, dark fruits, roasty malts and alcohol. sweet and bitter at different points. Deserves a proper food matching.

Bottle. Hazy/murky dark chestnut brown with a thick lacing and lasting head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, peach, mango, persimmon fruit, light prunes, plums. Taste is medium+ sweet and medium bitter. Close to full body, oily to sticky texture, medium carbonation. Soft finish with toffee and dark fruits. Reminds me a bit of the imperial brown ale but more hoppy.
