Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

Recommended serving temperature 16°C/61°F Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, and chocolate malt; Columbus, Chinook, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

23,5°P, 80 IBU, 10% ABV.

Editor’s note: Even though the label says "Barley Wine" in the States, the brewery usually says it’s brewed to be an IIPA. The American label was supposedly a glitch. In Europe it’s sold as an IIPA. But to save the admin crew some time dealing with user feedback, it’s listed as a Barley Wine.

Draft at Brouwers, left over from Hard Liver. Pours a dark ruby amber color with a fading fizz head. Aroma is booze forward, with sweet fruit. Flavor is very smooth, with caramel, soft cinnamon, and malt finish. So smooth and drinks easy.

Pours dark brown in colour, slightly hazy with small beige head. Aroma of malt, toasted bread, dried fruits and caramel/toffee notes. In taste solid malty base, caramel, dark bread, toffee with light fruitiness. Bitter floral hops in finish. Medium to full body, smooth texture, soft carbonation. Alcohol noticeable, but not harsh just warming. Very good barley wine.

500cl bottle at home, bottled 20/11/14. Nice chestnut brown colour, foamy beige head. Rich aromatic malty nose with toffee, molasses, coffee, tropical fruity and resinous hops, liquorice: taste has these notes too, lacks a bit of depth, quite a bitter finish. Lingering bitter sweet, malty finish. Good body, low carbonation.
