Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

Recommended serving temperature 16°C/61°F Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, and chocolate malt; Columbus, Chinook, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

23,5°P, 80 IBU, 10% ABV.

Editor’s note: Even though the label says "Barley Wine" in the States, the brewery usually says it’s brewed to be an IIPA. The American label was supposedly a glitch. In Europe it’s sold as an IIPA. But to save the admin crew some time dealing with user feedback, it’s listed as a Barley Wine.

50 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with a little sediment and a tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma and flavour are caramel, pine, chocolate, and some warming alcohol - with a bitter finish.

Hoppy style barley wine with decent maltiness, expressive caramel, roasted malts, fruitiness, citrus, pine, bit licorice, wood. Sweetish with long moderate to heavy bitterness. Quite dry. Very nice brew, close to IIPA, thou malt character makes this enjoyable in barley wine category as well.

Draft at Beer Temple. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of raisins, caramel, toffee, cheesy malts and sweet overripe dark fruits. Flavour is heavy sweet and over moderate bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. A little sickly.

Nice malted barley (and wheat) is there, but not as prominent as in many barley wines. Rounded sweetness comes at you but dissipates before becoming too strong. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at delirium hoppy loft. Dark treacle pour. Aroma and taste not great. Licorice and star anise . syrupy. Like cough medicine.

It's like a double ipa covered with salty and raisiny taste. Not what I'd hoped for. Gets better as you go and the beer gets less cold. Ends up as a not bad very malty double ipa.

Pours a hazy Coke-like colour, with a dense brown head that lasts for a while. Aromas are hoppy, some citrus, rosewood and a weird sour milk-like aroma. Mouthfeel is very sticky, slightly unpleasant. Taste is sweet, but the finish is quite dry. Pretty good beer.

Very little off white colored head. Good aroma of barley and some hops. Dark brown to the pour and fair amount of sediment. Very smooth to the sip and goes down smooth. The right amount of carbonation that does not take away from the taste. I feel a slight bitter after taste which I assume is the high alcohol content but I really like the taste.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Murky dark brown with beige head and sediment. Hoppy aroma, subtle caramel malt. Hops, subtle chocolate.
