COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

Recommended serving temperature 16°C/61°F Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, and chocolate malt; Columbus, Chinook, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

23,5°P, 80 IBU, 10% ABV.

Editor’s note: Even though the label says "Barley Wine" in the States, the brewery usually says it’s brewed to be an IIPA. The American label was supposedly a glitch. In Europe it’s sold as an IIPA. But to save the admin crew some time dealing with user feedback, it’s listed as a Barley Wine.

One of my new favourites, delicious IIPA from Norway. Hoppy aroma, more spruce than citrus, some herbs on the nose as well, but mostly hops with a bit of earthiness to it. Pours a deep brown, not quite black, as a bit of red shows through, with a small off-white head. The taste is superb and has some of that characteristic Nogne flavour from the yeast and the barley. Hoppy overall, but with hints of caramel and dark fruits which makes for an interesting combo. Great beer.

Bottle at home, bought at Geers. Very hoppy, bitter, caramel, very nice and tasty, but totally wrecks your palet.

Barwa rubinowa, lepkie, piana zostaje do końca w pierścieniu. W smaku karmel, żywica, średnia goryczka, gęste.

Batch #1475 (17.07.15) 0,5l bottle at home bought from Firmabier. Pours dark brown colour with moderate light grey head, let the yeast in the glass. Aroma has caramel, toffee, bread, maltiness, complex fruitiness in it. Rich, quite bitter taste, some alcohol, oily mouthfeel. One of my favourites.

Dolce, malto, frutta. Leggermente viscosa. Grande barley wine.

Caramel, bread, some dark fruits in aroma. Pours dark brown with beige head, Taste is medium sweet with caramel and melanoidin notes followed by fruity flavors. Finish is medium bitter, grapefruit-like. Alcohol well hidden, full body. Overall good Barley Wine, nothing spectacular though.

Dark copper, small head. Aroma: caramel, grapefruit, malt, fruits. Medium body, quite dry. Flavour is fruity both from malts and hops, some toasty notes and caramel. Alcohol very subtle. Earthy notes on finish (roasted malt?)

50 cl, bottle fermented, batch #1604. Very dark beer in the glass, in front of a lightbulb it appears reddish copper mahogany. Stunning colour, thin tan head. Dark fruity aroma, dates, figs, slight alcohol notes in the end. Thick, oily mouthfeel, semi-bitter, low carbonation. Taste is, again, filled with all kind of dark fruits and alcohol, along with a bit heavy roasted, almost burnt, malts. May benefit from a year or two of storage/aging.
