4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from the LCBO. Dark chestnut-brown body with copper highlights and a slight haze. Thin tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma has a helluvalot of hop action going on, with orange peel and pine making themselves known, but there’s also a load of malt in there as well, bringing notes of cocoa and toffee and raisin and cooked plum. Flavour is a similar combination of bitter and sweet, and quite complex - along with the notes promised by the aroma, there are hints of anise, vanilla, sour cherry, spruce tip, and a lovely sour woodiness hanging around the edges in the finish. Like others, I’d say that it leans more towards being a barley wine than an IIPA, but regardless of how it’s classified, it’s pretty damn awesome. (Update: I entered this review when about halfway through the bottle, and rated it 3.9. Have edited my numbers twice while finishing it, bumping it up each time. As it warms, it gets better and better. Verging on outstanding...)

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Nøgne Ø #100 I believe was the 2nd beer from this brewery that I have tasted.
Mahogany in color with a very thick beige head, aroma was full of roasted malt, caramel and quite piney. Quite a lot of hops in this DIPA, slightly unbalanced with the maltiness of this beer. Quite a complex flavor to this beer, everything from roasted malt/coffee to licorice and bitter piney hops. This beer has tones of bitter chocolate and some nuttiness in the initial taste, but the body of this beer is quite bitter and roasted.
Medium bodied brew that has some cola and caramel sweetness with the bitterness of the hops to the front in both the aroma and body of the beer. This makes the finish quite bitter but with the carbonation and body weight of the beer, it balances out quite well.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 30, 2015 Murky amber body with a tan head. Aroma is brown sugar, liquorice, grapefruit peel, milk chocolate, wood. Tastes sweet, malty, almost chocolate-y upon entering the mouth; a strong bitterness follows which is slightly woody and very herbal. The aftertaste is bitter and dry and lasts quite some time. Sticky mouthfeel. Well balanced.

On tap at Tomahawk Bar in snifter. Pours cloudy, dark amber with a rich aroma of earthy malts and hops. Nice bitterness against a bit of sweetness from the malt. One to savour. A fitting choice for my 100th rating.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Cloudy brown/black color, tan head, lots of lace stripes. Aroma of malt and dark fruit. Taste is rich semi-sweet malt that adds prune and cocoa in the palate, turning from there to medium hops in a very long finish. Chewy, strong, alcohol warmth at the end, enough hops to keep it interesting,...a solid brew.
