COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

Recommended serving temperature 16°C/61°F Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, and chocolate malt; Columbus, Chinook, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

23,5°P, 80 IBU, 10% ABV.

Editor’s note: Even though the label says "Barley Wine" in the States, the brewery usually says it’s brewed to be an IIPA. The American label was supposedly a glitch. In Europe it’s sold as an IIPA. But to save the admin crew some time dealing with user feedback, it’s listed as a Barley Wine.

I've just read that this is really an IIPA, rather than a Barley Wine, but I'd almost vote for the Barley Wine label because of the combination of the strong malt dominating the moderate hops, and the rich mouth feel. I wish I had a fireplace I could drink this great beer in front of ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aromat: Cukierki, dojrzałe owoce, po ogrzaniu alkohol. Wygląd: Ciemny bursztyn z delikatną pianą. Smak: Analogia do aromatu - słodycz, karmel, skojarzenia z miodem pitnym (lecz wytrawnym).

Prima barley!

On tap at csakajo. Dark brown colour almost no head. Nosenis surprisingly hoppy with nice molasses and dried fruit. Taste is low bitterness, soke booze. Very nice cholate aftertaste. Nice.

Wow this is good stuff! The best of two worlds: lots of malty full bodied beer and lots of great hop flavor and aroma. I love the combination and the balance between the dark malts and grassy hop flavor. The caramel and toasty malt notes dominate the aroma but grassy hop can be sensed. In the flavor the hops quickly take over. Really awesome balance between it all. Unfortunatly I had not read the label thoroughly enough and thought this was not a bottlefermented beer so I had left it layong down in the fridge resultibg in quite a lot of sediment in the glass which made it look a little unappetizing, but I disregard that since that was a fault of my own and besides that the beer looked great: nice nutbrown color with off white head. At this moment this feels like the best beer I have ever had!

Bottle at home, bought at Geers. Very hoppy, bitter, caramel, very nice and tasty, but totally wrecks your palet.

Barwa rubinowa, lepkie, piana zostaje do końca w pierścieniu. W smaku karmel, żywica, średnia goryczka, gęste.

Batch #1475 (17.07.15) 0,5l bottle at home bought from Firmabier. Pours dark brown colour with moderate light grey head, let the yeast in the glass. Aroma has caramel, toffee, bread, maltiness, complex fruitiness in it. Rich, quite bitter taste, some alcohol, oily mouthfeel. One of my favourites.

Dolce, malto, frutta. Leggermente viscosa. Grande barley wine.
