COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is brewed with 100% Scottish peat smoked whisky malt. This malt generates an intense smokey flavor and aroma. In fact its intensity makes this beer almost undrinkable, unless you blend it with other ingredients. We recommend to use this product to give a balanced smoked note to foods and drinks as oysters, sauces, marinades, sausages, fatty fish, chocolate and dark beer. Improve your world by giving it a hint of smoke.

25cl btl #879 b@Vinmonopolet Tromsø; Somewhat hazy amber beer. Tar, smoke, tannins to the nose. Mash brook, peated malts in taste, hops too, ripe fruits. Something reminded me about the old neighbour when he smoked fish long ago under peats. Nice body, soft carb and okay body. Finishes mid dry with smoked berries, lasting. Very original stuff. T@home.

DAA; Bottle #09765. Batch nr.: 879 Pours cloudy golden with a fast deminishing white head. Nosetrils fills with smoked, whiskey boozy malt on a fruity, caramell foundation. Taste is smoked and almost undrinkable, but sure, some oysters would probaly make a difference and improve my world. Taking no note of style this is to extreme for me. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Barwa: złocista, lekko zmętniona. Piana biała, drobno pęcherzykowa, niewielka i szybko opadająca. Wysycenie niskie, całość wyraźnie gęsta i oleista. Aromat: zdecydowana wędzoność torfowa z lekka nutą alkoholową. Przez ten dym ciężko się jednak przebić. Smak: słodowy, lekko słodki, z chmielową kontrą. Następie bardzo wyraźne nuty wędzone i alkoholowa końcówka.

Almost undrinkable they say....... I almost agree I say. Dirty amber brown with a limited white cap. Smells like a chain smokers car, hickory sticks (can you still buy those?) nose finishes with a healthy dose of Robitussin. Nose is potent and aggressive but not really offensive in anyway. Taste is not that bad.... Sweet...... very sweet, apple, and lots of campfire. I’m not sure how Nøgne does that Robitussin flavour in there smoked beers but I like it. Aftertaste reminds of walnuts. This is 100% drinkable, I wasn’t really sure I liked it after the first sip but it won me over. Nøgne kicks the crap out of Mikkeller when it comes to smoked brews.

Idiosynkrasie (3269) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAR 14, 2014
250ml bottle. Cloudy dark golden to amber colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Intense smoky aroma, lots of peat, TCP, shoe polish and equivalent whisky notes. Taste is initially smoky, notes of peat and TCP, in the middle part slightly sweet pale malty, almost a bit fruity, in the finish again heavily smoky and peaty. Hard stuff, but still pretty far from undrinkable.

Süßlicher, intensiv rauchiger Antrunk. Whiskeynoten, sonst erstaunlich süffig, hellmalzig. Nicht einmal vollmundig aber natürlich durchgehend vom Rauch geprägt. 7/11/11/12//12

250ml bottle pours a hazy golden brownish color with a small white head leaving almost no lacing. Aroma is dominated by peat and smoke. Taste is smoky with a herbal hop bitterness and malty sweetness. Medium body with light carbonation. This brew is a definite sipper, but it is quite drinkable.

Pours a hazy golden amber with a thin white head. Aroma is smoke and peat. Flavour is peaty and smoke with a mild-medium bitterness. I actually really enjoyed this "almost un-drinkable" beer!

Undrinkable? Hardly. Being a fan of Yeastie Boys Rex Attitude this is a much more toned version. I actually think this beer is very drinkable hence the score.
