We are celebrating our 1000th batch with these two beers. They are quite similar, though the colour differs. They are both brewed with spices, inspired by 1001 night.

Great light beer with a great light spicy Belgian yeast Aroma with nice phenols and sweet candi sugar. Body is super light for a 10 percent beer and you have great complexity with a wonderful cloying effect.

250ml bottle. Cloudy, dark amber colour with late awakening, small, frothy, rapidly diminishing, minimally lacing, white head, a thin white layer remains. Sweet-ish, floral-herbal aroma with a bath salt touch, hints of ginger, aniseed and lavender. Taste is slightly sweet malty, mildly floral-herbal spicy, hints of nutmeg, aniseed, ginger, underlying fruity notes, fig, and apricot. Full bodied, not overspiced, well hidden alcohol.

Aroma was very Belgium like in the beginning , later it reminder me of Underlig Jul, spicy with cloves, saffron & cumin. Medium bodied, very easy to drink beer 10.0% alcohol nowhere to be seen and had an IBU of 50. The taste also had some spice to it, perfectly balanced between malt, hops and spices.

25cl bottle from Vinmonopolet Storo (some years ago). Pours clear deep golden with a fairly modest, white head. Rather spicy aroma with notes of caramel, dried fruits, honey, alcohol and bitter herbs. Sweet and reminds me at first a bit of the Finish Marinella, the spices are quite dominating. Feels somewhat a bit unusual and I’m not too fan of it at first, but after some time in the glass and a bit more temperature it turns into a pleasant sipper.

Rating #1116 - 02.06.2014 - Bottle from gift pack from CBI. Pours a slightly cloudy golden yellow. Aromatics are on another chart - cardamom, lavender, and a breadth of spices i could only grasp at naming. Palate is slightly overworked here, i’m getting a mild funkiness that I like but the balance is off - feel im being pulled in too many directions. Love the story.

Bottle. Hazy golden body, small whiteish head. Flowery and herbal aroma, spicy forest fruit, pepper, honeysweet malt backbone. Good complexity in taste, mild alcohol heat.
