COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nothing is like celebrating your own milestones. This is a celebration of our 500th batch of ale. It was brewed with joy and splendor; the brewer wore a suit, and a TV station filmed the event. As a base for this ale, we have elected to play with numbers: 5 hops, 100 IBUs, 10% alcohol by volume. Indeed it is an Imperial India Pale Ale. Big and bold. Great for a celebration!

Hazy/clear deep golden colour with a nice off white head. Good lacing. Rich grape and ruch fruity aroma. Very sweet and rich hoppy. A bit to sweet for my likings. Had some batches that the alcohol came thorugh too much also. This one was nice. But forgot to write down the batch number.
[Bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo, Norway]

50cl bottle. This is the king of double IPA! Pours as clear as virgin IPA but is thick, heavy and hoppy as hell. Aroma of various hoppy subflavors and yeast. You have to share the bottle, otherwise you are done for the evening, or even a month. Pours a perfect IPA. No need to explain here. Full bodied double ipa - thick, fat and creamy at the same time. This is a blast. Get it as soon as you can!

Aroma: pine, citric, roasted nuts, weak; Appearance: pale gold, minimal head; Taste: medium bitterness, slight sweetness, medium sourness; Palate: average carbonation, long hoppy finish, oily texture, medium body Weak aroma, too much alcohol sensed, stronger body could have helped this beer (excessive filtration?)

50cl bottle. Strong aroma of hops. Quite a malty body, with some grainy caramel and a tiny bit of raisin. Taste is hoppy, very bitter, with a dry aftertaste and some warming alcohol. Like a strong imperial ipa, with a touch of barley wine.

Bottle from llepood nr 1 Gambrinus in Tartu, August 2014. Dark, deep, cloudy amber with a massive off-white head and thick lacing. Loads of sediment in the bottom of the bottle, and later... in my glass as well, despite my carefulness. Nose... massive! Very bitter and resinous, also sweet. Berries, sundried tropical fruits, citrus, biscuits, pine resin, grains... Later some spicy yeast as well, due to the sediment. Note: while writing this review I accidentally dipped my nose in the beer 5 times. Taste is at first very sweet, then the extreme piney bitterness kicks in. Its resinous, fruity, citrusy, ripe - theres also a certain Campari aspect to it. Alcohol well hidden - one can sense the 10% ABV only hintingly (both in the deep aroma and the thickness of the palate), only to come to the fore after swallowing, in the warmth (or even heat?) in the throat. Full body, low carbonation, sticky mouthfeel. As a sucker for DIPA-s I say this is great stuff. Too bad the bottles only 50 cl.

Hazy amber, beige head. Very toasty and malty nose with oranges, hops, lemons, caramel. Flavor is malt, biscuity sweetness, oranges, alcohol in the slightly sweet finish, slight spice, followed by firm bitterness and alcohol.

Mooie oranje kleur met een volle kraag. Ruikt fruitig, kruiden, honing. Beetje orange. Smaakt bitterzoet, orange, honing. Tikkeltje zoet. Iets bittere afdronk.

Dark amber colour, cloudy. Medium height white head, reducing to small ring. Aroma of sweet red fruits, alcohol, some caramel and a hint of cooked vegetables. Taste is sweet, red fruits, resin and alcohol. Bitterness is too low for me, its not balancing the sweetness of this beer. Carbonation is soft, textures sticky. I was expecting more from this beer.
