COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nothing is like celebrating your own milestones. This is a celebration of our 500th batch of ale. It was brewed with joy and splendor; the brewer wore a suit, and a TV station filmed the event. As a base for this ale, we have elected to play with numbers: 5 hops, 100 IBUs, 10% alcohol by volume. Indeed it is an Imperial India Pale Ale. Big and bold. Great for a celebration!

Draught. Clear, amber colour. Mango, grapefruit and piny in nose. Taste is hoppy, caramel, orange peel, sweet. Strong bitterness, light carbonation, oily body. Cant’ feel alcohol at all! So good Imperial IPA.

First all, this is bitch old. Pour is hazy orange, with a small frothy white head. Aroma of pine, grass, plenty of caramel, malts, slightly fruity. Taste is pretty sweet up front, with a medium bitterness from the middle and out. Medium and slightly oily body, with a semi flat carbonation. As ipa, read above, as BW + 0.2

Poured from a 750 cc bottle shared with JB. Pours cloudy copper with a quickly fading tan head. Aroma is an amazing fusion of tropical fruit (papaya, banana, mango), sugar cane, caramel, and sweet malt. Flavour is roasted malt with notes of caramel, coffee, and dried dark fruit. There are surprising hops giving a crisp bitter finish. Medium body. Awesome Imperial IPA!

On draft at ChurchKey DC. Pours a clear copper with an off white head. Aroma of plastic and grass. Flavors of resin and some caramel. Medium to heavy bodied, moderate carbonation, bitter finish.

Pour is very cloudy dark orange. Smell is slightly floral and boozy. Little to no head. Taste is overly caramel. Biting hop that's not pleasant. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Uklar brun farge med flott, noe kremet skum. Lukter masse humle og karamell. Fyldig og humlepreg også i smaken. Nydelig bitter avslutning.

A little boozy, kind of takes over beer. Some caramel. Some sugar malt. Light sweet finish. Pours orange amber with some head and lacing. Ok. Tap at Churchkey.

4oz pour at Churchkey’s Nogne O Tap Takeover. Pours a clear orange with some swirling white head. Nose is nice and chivey, orange, pine, soap, grapefruit, a little candy, fairly close to that West Coast style. Flavor has a bit more candy sugar than the nose lets on, soap, orange, tangerine, heavy soap, mild herb. Full, astringent finish.

My precious. this is the kind of IIPAs that I love. Right amount of maltiness and that huge caramel presence.. then comes awesome fruitiness, mango, orange, some berries, intense hops, bit pine. Moderate to heavy sweetness, combined with moderate bitterness. Actually this is close to barley wine. Well balanced and highly enjoyable.

With some coaxing I got this to an appearance of 5, a solid dark beige head with a foggy muddy brown body like sludge from a swamp. Strong fusel alcohol on the nose with some malt and cherry, grape. Flavour is heavy barley overrun by alcohol and cherry notes, with a tarry dry finish. Nice, but too thick and strong, it could use some restraint and balance to make all of its elements shine.
