Editor’s note: Originally a special brew made for Aku Aku Tiki Bar in Oslo, but some kegs found their way to other pubs as well. Later on changed name to Lemongrass as Aku Aku Tiki Bar quit buying it.

Gusher, off white tower, dirty golden body, foggy. Aroma; pale malts and dough behind lemongrass, dish wash fluid notes. Taste; lemongrass, malty notes and some lemon, and finishes lemongrassish. Soso on palate. Monotone lemongrass ale. [50cl brown bottle, abv5%, BB.05.062016. B@Vinmonopolet]

Very light yellow in color and quite hazy, initial aroma had some ginger but very little lemon-grass and spicy. The lemon-grass was a lot more dominant on the palette and I did not like this after-taste at all, dare to say it was like drinking a lemon toilet spray at times. Quite soapy and had some mild bitterness but did not get much malt at all.

12oz tulip glass on tap at Beer Revolution in Edmonton pours a clear golden color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotty lacing behind. Aroma is lemongrass with some hints of citrus and caramel. Taste is a spiciness from the lemongrass and a light caramel malty sweetness and citrus hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. I enjoyed this brew.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Risør. Pale, unclear, with an enormous, frothy, white head. Took forever to pour this one... Lemongrass, pepper and ester nose. Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Very refreshing. Lemon, some pepper, some yeast, grass, hay flavour. Sweet, some bitterness and hint og sour.

50cl bottle from Vinmonopolet Storo, Oslo. Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is dominated by lemongrass - all the way from the smell when opening the bottle. Almost a bit too much and almost a bit soapy or prefumy, but still the nice Asian feel to it. Will try it next to food next time. Far from the typical APA, but a rather nice and refreshing beer if you like lemongrass. Mild malty notes and hints of citrus i also present. Moderate to medium sweet with a light acidity and pleasant bitterness. Rather nice. Think I liked it when I first tried it at Aku Aku a long time ago too.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Lemongrass aroma, citrusy hoppy overtones, slightly biscuity, pale malty basis. Taste is citrusy hoppy, notes of lemon and lemongrass, slightly sweet, biscuity, pale malty basis; the citrusy freshness fades away, more earthy and slightly waxy lemongrass notes remain in the finish; (too) lively carbonation.

A golden beer, strongly bubbling, even with careful pouring the head is big, crowing and blond. Aroma has lots of lemongrass, lemon, some tropical fruits and sharp diskwashing detergent. Taste has lemon, fresh grass and some spicyness of coriander. Taste is more balanced than aroma. Almost medium bodied, strong carbonation. Good beer for a hot summer day as today, just as the etiquette says. Lemon and grass or lemongrass, refreshning.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden with a light haze. Decent head. Nose - lemon grass definitely, but also something quite sweet. Taste - confected lemongrass, like lemongrass jam, if such a thing exists. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could be a bit cleaner, to be honest. Overall - decent, if a bit sweet.
