Editor’s note: A special brew made for Aku Aku Tiki Bar in Oslo, but some kegs found their way to other pubs as well.

Tap @ Pingvinen, Bergen. Pours a semi cloudy to clear orange body with a lasting creamy just off-white little head leaving nice lacing down the glass. Aroma is light fruity, not as fruity as I would have imagined but still. Some notes of peach, lemon and light grassy hops. Quite bitter at first, but it gets sweeter and sweeter as it gets some time in the mouth. Body is medium, average carbonated and it has an oily texture. A bit watery perhaps, and it has a nice maltiness all the way through. Is this supposed to be brewed with lemongrass? If so it’s quite subtle and almost impossible to notice. All in all a absolutely decent APA. Light hoppy finish and a mild piny aftertaste. Refreshing beer and quite easy to drink, still I miss that expected lemongrass-punch lemongrass often can give to food.

On tap @ Aku Aku Tiki Bar, Oslo. Just managed to sneak into Aku Aku to fill this hole in my Nøgne Ø collection before rushing on to the Brooklyn Brewery tasting at Ringes only 20 minutes later. Thirsty as hell, I’ve never downed a craft beer this fast but I still took time to rate it. Of course. ;-) Slightly hazy dark-ish orange body, medium white head. Citrus, lime, sweet pale malts with hints of kiwi to the nose. Taste is fresh citric notes, bitter grassy tones, sweet cookie-like malt base. Floral bitter finish. Reminds me a lot of their Single Hop Citra IPA, I’m guessing this is based on the same core recipe. Not too bad, but far from the greatest beer NØ has made.

Draught at Frk. Larsen, Kristiansand. Pours a hazy golden with dense white/beige head, not lasting. Aroma is heavy lemongrass, citrus and pine. Taste is medium bitter, light sweet, light sour. Light body, thin, soft carbonation. Surprised by this one. If it was easier accessible it would be a session favorite. 20110310

Orange with white foam. Gentle breeze of pine and citrus. Fresh mouth feeling. Lively carbonation. Simple body. Slightly metallic taste, where the lemon grass is hard to recognize. But finely tuned bitterness and finish.

On tap. Pours a pretty and almost clear deep golden with a white head. Light citrusy notes. Medium body with a dry fruitiness, again citrus notes - more from hops than lemongrass I reckon. The bitterness is dry but not overly bitter. Would be a perfect summer quaffer. 190311

Tried on tap at the Sail & Anchor. Hazy golden body with white head. Lemon in the aroma and the taste that is not too dominant, light in body, easy to drink, solid enough though not a standout.

Tasted on tap @ Henrik, Bergen. A swing and a miss from Nøgne Ø. Tastes of mild chewing tobacco and artificial lemon juice. Horrible.
