(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 17 May 2013) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, roasted malt, toast and apricots. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, a touch of grapefruit, apricots, spicy hints of lemongrass and a fairly dry finish with a certain citric bitterness. Medium body, fairly dry. Well balanced and tasty with the lemongrass lurking in the background. Nice one.

The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a medium white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: nose is obviously lemongrass, very much so, couldn’t detect anything else. In mouth the beer is an lemongrass attack of unmatched intensity. I’ve had other lemongrass beers before but compared to this beer they all made subtle use of lemongrass. This is like chewing honeyed coated lemongrass. Not a bad beer if you like lemongrass but this is really extreme. Somehow my taste buds got used to the extrem-beer and I found the second half of my glass more enjoyable than the first. A very unusual beer from Nøgne Ø, a brewery with strange beers and strange vowels.

0,33l. Aku Aku, Oslo tap. Pour is slightly darker than golden, but the bar was not well lit. Aroma is citrus hops and a good helping of lemon grass. Taste is very much on the light side. Lemongrass is prominent, but it is in no way overpowering. Hop bitterness is pretty low. This is a good session brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours light hazy orange-yellow with a fine, white film for a head. Very true lemongrass aroma, lightly tangy and sharp. Very refreshing flavor, sweet lemon and orange, a bit of wet grass, hints of spices and yeast. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Some zesty citrus to finish, light dough malts, medium sweetness, some grassy dryness. A pretty solid beer. The lemongrass is well integrated. Perhaps a touch too sweet, and I wouldn’t mind some more dryness, but overall it’s very nice.

Hazy golden with a white ehad - nice citrus aroma - some malt taste in the back to support a good ctirus / lemon tast - this was nice and refreshing

Tap at Trikkestallen. Golden body, slighly hazy, good white head. Aroma is fruity, lemon and peach, taste is the same with malt and wheat. Refreshing, with a good bitterness.

Aku Aku, Oslo tap (72 NOK): Pour is slightly darker than golden, but the bar was not well lit. Aroma is citrus hops and a good helping of lemon grass. Taste is very much on the light side. Lemongrass is prominent, but it is in no way overpowering. Hop bitterness is pretty low. This is a good session brew.

Draught at Copenhagen Ølfestival 2012. Hazy golden color. Sweet lemony aroma. Very lemony and herbal taste with fairly light body. A bit lemonade like.
