A rather malty brew, which we think goes very well with cheeses - even well matured blue cheeses. You can also try our Amber paired with a grilled dish. Recommended serving temperature 10°C/50°F.

Ingredients: Maris Otter, Munich, and caramel malt; Chinook and Williamette hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

14°P, 30 IBU, 6.0 ABV.

Bottle. Hazy reddish amber with a large off-white head with a reddish hue. Cloying caramelly malt aroma with dusty potatoe cellar notes and an all too clear alcohol note. Medium bodied with smooth mouthfeel. Lacks in balance, short finish.

Pours a cloudy amber color with big chunks of yeast and a thin offwhite head. Good aroma of spicy hops and toasted malt. Good flavor of spicy hops, fruits and malt, there’s also a peppery feeling, maybe it comes from the hops. The body is light and oily with soft carbonation. Amber ales often tend to be boring but this one is quite enjoyable.

A nice amber ale with a not too pungent hoppy aroma. Some of the characteristic american hops are taking the lead, but then they blen with some nice malty caramel notes. Medium body and a bit thin and short finish. A good beer, but I would prefer either a maltier profile or more bitterness. As it is now it is a good beer, but it falls a inbetween.

500ml bottle (SOPP2007, Helsinki) Rich brown colour, with a small head. Alcoholic and sweet soapy aroma. Taste is very full - a bit sweet and alcoholic, but also chocolatey and as the taste fades it leaves an oaky wood finish - very nice.

(Bottled) Very hazy dark amber-brown with a smallish, creamy head. Pleasantly aromatic-hoppy, rye-malty and slightly yeasty aroma. Full-malty, ryeish, somewhat yeasty flavor with some warming alcohol, and pleasantly balancing, aromatic hops. A truly beautiful and balanced amber ale with a very clear Nogne fingerprint.

50 cl bottle. Yeast at the bottom. Hazy amber colour with a nice light brown head. Nice malty aroma with notes of chocolate. Nice tasty flavour of caramel, and fruitness from the hops. Ends up quite bitter and tasty.

An interesting amber. Nice malty aromas with a bit of hop presence. Full bodied with a bit of fruit and more nice malty taste. Dry finish with some bitter hops.

Used to be my favourite of NØ’s in the beginning, due to its balance and richness, I always think of Cragganmore whiskey when I see, smell and drink this one. Smoke, fruit, caramel and the hoppy end which NØ tend to add to almost all their beers.

Bottle. Frothy beige head. Very nice red brown body. Sweet fruity aroma, quite heavy. Tropical fruits, some tar or rotten fruit. Dry medium heavy flavour. Fruity at first, then something that reminds me of coffee, before it ends in a long lasting very bitter and dry finish. Very interesting development of tastes. (At home, 15.06.07)
