COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Asian Pale Ale is a light and refreshing ale. It has generous amounts of lemongrass, added late in the brewing process to ensure that we capture its light, crisp and tangy aromas. This beer work well as a thirst quenching beverage, as well as paired with asian food, salads and light meat dishes. We recommend to pour cautiously to leave the natural sediments behind. Recommended serving temperature 8 deg C / 47 deg F. Ingredients: Malted barley, malted wheat, hops, lemongrass, English ale yeast and our local Grimstad water. Recommended serving temperature 8 deg C / 47 deg F

650 ml bottle. Pours an orange Amber with moderate head but lots of white floaters. Aromas and flavors of lemons - no surprise. A bit meaty for a light ABV beer. Meh.

500ml bottle. Slightly cloudy brass colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Spicy, floral, minimally soapy aroma, hints of lemongrass, unspecific petals. Taste is bitter hoppy, minimally soapy, floral, mildly spicy, some lemongrass, petals of unspecific extraction, citrusy hoppy overtones with hints of lemon and lime, maybe a touch of pickled ginger. Tom Ka Gai without coco and vegetables - nice.

Not impressed by this beer. I find this beer slightly out of balance, but it is fresh and well made

Appearance: slightly hazy pale amber with two fingers of fluffy off-white head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: lemongrass, lime and tropical fruit, pale malt. (8/10) Taste: moderate to strong sweet, moderate bitter, moderate tart. (8/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, medium duration tart finish. (4/5) Lots of fun - bright and citrusy, and it tastes far more bitter than the 10 IBU the labels claims. I think maybe it’s the lemongrass? Overall, it feels like a lot of added flavours, but I have to admit they integrate reasonably well, and never feel artificial. It’s sweet, but not sickly. Huge chunky sediment in the last inch, too, but that’s not really an issue - especially since the bottle explicitly warns you to pour carefully to avoid the sediment. (16/20)
