COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Originally launced as bottle conditioned Kos på Groos as a festival beer for the Skral rock/pop festival in 2008. Spring 2009 it was relaunched as Blonde, tap only. For the Free Port Days in Kristiansand June 2009 it was sold bottle conditioned once more, this time with an extra addition of Cascade hops, under the name Porto Franco. Released on bottle as Blonde January 2011.

On the label of Kos på Groos: Kos På Groos nytes best avkjølt i sola mens man opplever god musikk.

On the label of Porto Franco: Øl har lange tradisjoner til sjøs.

English:Blonde Ale is refreshing anytime, but especially after working outside om a hot summer day.Serve at 6 degrees C and pair with seafood and other light meals. Nøgne Ø ales are bottle conditioned, so pour carefully if you do not want to disturb the yeast sediments in the bottle.

50 cl bottle. #591: BBE 140213, brygget 140211.
Rather mild and a bit sourish aroma has fruits and some hints of belgian yeast. Taste is fruity and has that yeast too. Smooth palate and a dry finish. In blind tasting I would take this as a saison from Belgium – not a blonde from Norway.

Bottle at Cardinal in Stavanger. Hazy golden/yellow with a large white head. Aroma of citrus, yeast, caramel and some lime. About the same in the rather different but good taste. Refreshing with a fairly light mouth feel.

Golden yellow beer wtih a big and blond head. Aroma is very refreshning and pleasant, fruitness, lemon, oranges, spicyness and corinader. Taste is also quite similar and pleasant as aroma, fruits, lemon and sourness, spicies and grapefruity bitterness. Quite light to drink, but fitts nicely into this beer. Very tastefull, light and refreshning beer with lots of taste also when cold and with low alc.%, great beer.

500 ml bottle. Batch #591, brygget 14.02.2011, BBE 14.02.2013. Rated @ 22.5.2011.
Pours a clear yellow colour with a white, lacy head. Aroma of wheat, citrus and hops. Flavour of wheat, grassy hops, fruits, camomilla and some caramel. Medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel and a dry, hoppy, fruity finish. Highly drinkable for the upcoming summer.

Bottle 50 cl. Poured hazy golden in colour with fluffy whitish head. Spices, yeast and citrus in aroma. Light hoppy bitterness and citrus with wheat in flavour. Saison meets weissbier. Very tasty and great beer for the summertime. Finish is just a bit grassy bitter with mild spicy hints. Great brew.

Koelschtrinker (9998) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 8, 2011
7/11/10/11/8/11

Pours golden. Small head. Not that much taste. Bitterness and carbonation aftertaste. Works well in the sun. Good beer, but probably not worth the extra cost compared to more commercial pilseners etc in the store (that often - sometimes you just want something that is better).

tiong (3683) - Espoo, FINLAND - MAY 6, 2011
500ml bottle from K-Supermarket Kamppi

Batch #591, brygget 140211 - Pours golden with a nice foamy head. Aroma has hints of yeast, citrus and wheat. Taste is somewhat unique and could be described as a mix of saison and a wheat beer, with hints of citrus, banana and spices. Body is quite light, finish is bitter and a bit too dry. Easy to drink, quite straightforward and a nice summer beer.
