Editor’s note: Originally launced as bottle conditioned Kos på Groos as a festival beer for the Skral rock/pop festival in 2008. Spring 2009 it was relaunched as Blonde, tap only. For the Free Port Days in Kristiansand June 2009 it was sold bottle conditioned once more, this time with an extra addition of Cascade hops, under the name Porto Franco. Released on bottle as Blonde January 2011.

On the label of Kos på Groos: Kos På Groos nytes best avkjølt i sola mens man opplever god musikk.

On the label of Porto Franco: Øl har lange tradisjoner til sjøs.

English:Blonde Ale is refreshing anytime, but especially after working outside om a hot summer day.Serve at 6 degrees C and pair with seafood and other light meals. Nøgne Ø ales are bottle conditioned, so pour carefully if you do not want to disturb the yeast sediments in the bottle.

UPDATED: APR 7, 2011 Slightly hazy, a bit dirty and dull looking light yellow/amber colour. A good sized, white, fully lasting, white head. Good lacing. Superb aroma with herbs, flowers, yeast, citrus and honey. The taste is initially sweet, as expected from the sweet honey in the aroma. Being a beer rating novice I often find too hoppy finishes not very pleasant, but the medium bitter finish of this beer perfectly matches the sweetness. Medium body, close to oily texture, average carbonation, beyond average quality! [50 cl bottle, batch 542, from ICA Hasle, Oslo]

Golden hazy with a thick white head. Smells of some kind of salty meat and some citrus. Taste is much better, refreshing, with citrus, zest and sweetness. Good hoppy finish. The beer is nice, but the aroma is not my cup of tea

This is a definite keeper. Good carbonation, pours with an golden brown color. Lots of fruity smells coming from this one. Highly drinkable for nearly anyone - excellent to share with friends. Slightly bitter in the back and highly citrus flavored in the front (perhaps too much).

Bottle, bought @ Humletorvet, Slagelse.
Muddy pale yellow with a fine, staying, white head. ’Aroma has mild cloves, sweet malts, light banana and mild green apples. Medium carbonation, fairly spritzy. Light but good dryness. Flavour has light pepper, some crisp malts, light watery metallic notes. Good, staying, grassy bitterness and dryness. Quite delicious for such a low ABV.
