COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Originally launced as bottle conditioned Kos på Groos as a festival beer for the Skral rock/pop festival in 2008. Spring 2009 it was relaunched as Blonde, tap only. For the Free Port Days in Kristiansand June 2009 it was sold bottle conditioned once more, this time with an extra addition of Cascade hops, under the name Porto Franco. Released on bottle as Blonde January 2011.

On the label of Kos på Groos: Kos På Groos nytes best avkjølt i sola mens man opplever god musikk.

On the label of Porto Franco: Øl har lange tradisjoner til sjøs.

English:Blonde Ale is refreshing anytime, but especially after working outside om a hot summer day.Serve at 6 degrees C and pair with seafood and other light meals. Nøgne Ø ales are bottle conditioned, so pour carefully if you do not want to disturb the yeast sediments in the bottle.

Bottle. Belgian style blonde. Cloudy and quite bitter. Taste is rather sharp. Not unpleasant but doesn’t really appeal to myself. Not of their best.

Pours a very pale colour, which appears white due to suspended yeast. A dense white head forms nicely on top. The aromas are mostly lemon and coriander, with a lightly toasted wheat and malt base. Bananas and spicy hops, too. The taste is low on the sweetness, and moderately bitter. The mouthfeel is light and fizzy.

Bottle. Light golden, cloudy, average to large and mostly lasting head. Light to moderate malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish aroma, light caramel and citrus fruitiness with light spiciness (coriander), light hoppyness and yeast. Body is light to medium, malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish flavor, faint caramel and light citrus fruitiness with light spiciness, light citrus hoppyness. Finish is average, malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish, light citrus fruitiness and spiciness and light - some citrus - piney hoppyness, light yeast. OK Belgian ale with decent bitterness - not too sweet. Bit thin - could use bore body.
