COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Originally launced as bottle conditioned Kos på Groos as a festival beer for the Skral rock/pop festival in 2008. Spring 2009 it was relaunched as Blonde, tap only. For the Free Port Days in Kristiansand June 2009 it was sold bottle conditioned once more, this time with an extra addition of Cascade hops, under the name Porto Franco. Released on bottle as Blonde January 2011.

On the label of Kos på Groos: Kos På Groos nytes best avkjølt i sola mens man opplever god musikk.

On the label of Porto Franco: Øl har lange tradisjoner til sjøs.

English:Blonde Ale is refreshing anytime, but especially after working outside om a hot summer day.Serve at 6 degrees C and pair with seafood and other light meals. Nøgne Ø ales are bottle conditioned, so pour carefully if you do not want to disturb the yeast sediments in the bottle.

Bottle, enjoyed at home. Deep hazy golden body, beautiful soft white thick head with tiny bubbles. Sadly the beer turns clearer as it gets warmer. A desirable chill haze? Aroma of citrus, yeast, rubber, a little disturbing sour cream scent, not strong. Taste is crisp and thirst quenching, spicy with orange and citrus, nice yeast characteristics. Bitterness is very present, without being extreme. Aftertaste is hoppy with malt sweetness sticking on the tounge. Not bad at all.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Golden yellow colour, reasonable head, some sediment. Flowery citrus lemon biscuit aroma & flavour, bitter lemon aftertaste. Average Belgian blonde.

500 ml bottle. Another fine beer from Nøgne Ø. This one is a great summer day beer, with its refreshing and fruity flavours, aroma and palate. The body is too light, that’s my main complaint.

50 cl bottle in Grebbestad. Clear pale amber beer with a small quickly disapering offwhite head. Hoppy and citrus aroma. Hoppy with a nice touch of bitterness in the flavour.

Bottle, from a trade with Cunningham. Somewhat hazy golden beer with an ok white head. Yeasty perfume aroma, grapefruit, citrus, lemongrass, floral, pepper, apples, metallic notes. Floral citrus flavor, grapefruit, yeast, perfume, long nice bitterness, but also some biscuits and pears, pepper, grass, some pine needles. Bitter fruity finish with citrus, perfume and pepper. Great beer!

Citrus and pine crisp fresh. Hazy straw yellow with white head medium long. Taste has also bit malting in background. Medium body, soft carbonation and texture. Crisp and bitter. Bitter and dry finish. Nice soft and fresh beer for summer days.

50cl bottle from ICA Storo. Pours pale golden with a white head. Fruity aroma with Belgian yeast, wheat, mal and hints of spices. Sweet and fruity with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Very refreshing and easy to drink. Very good summer beer, and quite nice all year round. One of the best "shop strenght" (below 4,75% ABV) beers in Norway.

Pours pale golden colour with a big white head. Aroma of grain, grass, wheat and some citrus and belgian yeast. Aftertaste has low bitterness, the grass and the citrus is the most notable tastes. Very smooth and refreshing ale. Certainly best enjoyed in the sun as I did.

A very decent blonde. Golden appearance with good carb. A sharp alcoholic bite. Some wheat, yeast, and spice, possibly cloves. Tried in Norway during the cabin weekend near Fredrikstad, 2012.
