"a pretty nice flavorful nutty carmel brown ale. a little on the sweet side, but some bitterness present too. high carbonation, almost too much, but this ends up a good beer for the style."

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours clear, dark, reddish brown with a dense, off white head. Aroma has lots of toasted malts, caramel malts, wheat-like fruits, plums, figs. Overall a very nice malt profile so far. Some almost belgian style yeast or esters here as well. Taste has a slightly higher roasted bitterness, toffee, caramel malts and fruits: Banana, dried plums, dried figs and raisins. Body is pretty watery, which doesn’t suit the taste very well in my opinion. Medium carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear reddish brown color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, brown sugar, dark bread, light nuttiness, light coffee, herbal, light fruitiness, and roast/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, brown sugar, dark bread, light coffee, herbal, light fruitiness, and roast/yeast earthiness. Light earthy/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, dark bread, brown sugar, light coffee, light fruitiness, herbal, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity and robustness of dark/roasted malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a good roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly bready/chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a nice session Brown ale. Good balance, robustness, and complexity of dark/roasted malt and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
