3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at RBESG Grand Tasting, August 2005. Reddish mid brown colour - not very dark for a brown ale. Plenty of nutty character and dry, roasted malt. Quite hoppy for a Brown Ale (or what we expect from a Brown Ale in the UK anyway) with an unusual, almost floral edge and an unexpected bitterness on the finish. Clean mouthfeel. I like it!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep copper colour with a decent white head. Caramel and grassy hop aroma. Sweet caramel, but balanced by good, fruity and grassy hoppiness, ending dry. Medium body. More an amber than a brown ale with the absence of any nuttiness- still highly enjoyable.

500cl bottle. Batch 156 (BB 06/06). Amber colour, with a fading off-white head. Brunt malty aroma and flavour. Watery mouthfeel. Taste of roasted caramel and light bitterness at the end. Very good to food - try it to chicken meat.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2008 This is the most versatile beer-to-food from Nøgne-Ø. Dark brown colour. Full bodied malty aroma and taste. Recommended to most food - perhaps most suitable to meat. KI=2.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark nut brown, small creamy off-white head. Smokey, roasted, chocolaty nose. Roasted, a bit watery, chocolaty, not very brown ale -like, more like some of the Nögne Ö’s stouts.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Brown colour, ok head. The aroma is malt and chocolate. Dry malt flavour, a bit stale, too thin.
