Brun er en upasteurisert og ufiltrert belgisk type ale. Øl fra Nøgne Ø er flaskegjæret, noe som medfører at man bør behandle flasken med varsomhet før servering, slik at sedimentene ikke forstyrres. Brun har en fin fruktighet som er balansert opp mot god maltsødme. Anbefalt serveringstemperatur 8 grader C. La det bygge en skumtopp. Vi anbefaler Brun som en god kompanjong til vellagrede oster, alternativt ulike kjøttretter.

Unclear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, nutty, wood, moderate hoppy, light to moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090515]

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber to brown with a huge tan head. Aroma is spiced and roasted malt. Dry malty and roasted flavoured, vague roasted note. Bitter and slight acidic note. Ends dry. Lingering roasted malt note.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops, malt, caramel, and some fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, bread, and some straw, leading to a sweet finish with notes of caramel and nuts. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle, thanks to faroeviking for sharing. Hazy red brown coloured with a medium sized off white head. Sweet and fruits aroma of nuts and hops. Sweet flavour of nuts, caramel, hops and pine needles. Hoppy finish.

Bottled (thanks TM!). Hazy reddish amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is nuts, wood, some spices as well as yeast. Some caramel malts as well. Flavour is roasted malts, wood and some mild spices. Raisins and some toffee as well. Actually a decent brew.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a fruity malty weak yeasty caramel aroma with weak hoppy hints. Fruity malty sweetish yeasty caramel flavor with hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty swetish caramel finish.

Hazy red - amber beer with a good pale tan head. Palate is slightly soft with good minerally carbonation. Malt is thin and slightly creamy and carries a whisper of smoke. Forensic trace of hops. Semi dry finish. Deathly dull.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2011 bottle at home ... murky hazy brown ... thin lacing after bi foam head ... sweet banana toffee malt nose ... overfizzy ... deep roast ... again banana toffee ... some yeasyness and hint of candi suger... its more a german dark wheat than a belgian ... but im digging it anyway
