COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Pours a pretty nondescript brown body and white head. Smell is vaguely malty. Taste is also straight up malty, with a slightly watery mouthfeel. Some subtle coffee notes in the background picks it up slightly, but not enough. Rather drinkable, but not noticeable in any way. Nøgne Ø can do better than this.

Bottle at Naboen, Bergen. Pours an unclear brown colour with a small beige creamy head. Aroma of dried fruit, leather, chocolate, some coffee and some nice roasted tones. Some of the same stuff in the flavour but is more malty with wood and nuts. Balanced and nice. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. An incredibly balanced and easy-drinking dark Belgian ale.

50cl bottle poured into a Chimay Trappist glass. Aroma is yeast and candy sugar. Flavor is standard Belgian ale. It is good but nothing to write home about. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brun i färgen, beige skum. Doftar fullkornsbröd, lite syrligt, jäst, milda pepparkakor. Smakar bröd, malt, bittert, torr avslutning.

Pours a brown colour with a one-finger tan head. Aroma of caramel, yeast and some mild nutty notes. Flavour is a bit boring to me, caramel, nuts, leaves and some dough maybe. Medium body with a soft mouthfeel and soft carbonation. An okey beer, but a bit boring

Bottle, traded with Palme, many thanks! Dark brown-ruby with a medium head. Aroma is initially some soy sauce, then caramel and licorice, some milk chocolate. Hints of wet earth, forest fruit and coffee. Interesting though a bit tame. Rather dry taste with a light to medium, malty-hoppy bitterness. A fruity-coffee-chocolate aftertaste. Nice, velvety carbonation. A bit too dry for my liking given the aroma profile.

Bottle at home - 05/09/12. Pours a clear mid brown with a decent off-white head that retained fairly well. Nose is malts, nuts, toffee and a little woodiness and a pinch of cinnamon. Tastes of brown sugar, malt, prunes, toffee and a little nutty and a crumb or two of biscuit. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, perhaps a little over carbonated. Medium sweet finish. A little thin.
