There is so much fun involved in creating Dark Horizon. Once it ferments, everyone in the brewery are very enthusiastic and pay close attention. Is the yeast still active? Is everything OK? How does the flavours evolve? Dark Horizon is normally dark and velvety. Muscovado sugars provides good fruity aromas. The coffee is a chapter on its own. The green beans will first be treated alfa amylase, an enzyme brewers enjoy working with. Then we mash the green beans before drying and roasting them. This gives it the unique flavor Dark Horizon deserves. Share Dark Horizon with someone you think deserves it.

bottle pour at braukunst live 2014 (or was it on tap...?). rich jet black, intimidating presence; aroma of molasses and soy/terriyaki; rick, thick and sticky but luscious at the same time; loads of chocolate, cream pie, salted caramels, plenty of bitterness. 50 eurocents for a sample of this was definitely the best value at the festival

250ml brown bottle, tissue wrapped and boxed. Batch number 857/858. Pours black, some sediment in the glass. Small beige ring on top. Aromas of coffee, roast, dark chocolate/choco syrup. Taste has dark coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, heavy roast. Coffee finish with alcohol warmth coating the throat, some bitterness deep in the throat as well. Full bodied heavy mouthfeel. Comes together nicely, potent and rich, yet surprisingly easy to drink for it’s strength. A nice treat.

I got this as suggested. Not a big fan. Seems overly sweet with a tarish like feel. Not horrible but the packaging compared to the beer is not equitable. Poured in a tall sniffer.
