COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There is so much fun involved in creating Dark Horizon. Once it ferments, everyone in the brewery are very enthusiastic and pay close attention. Is the yeast still active? Is everything OK? How does the flavours evolve? Dark Horizon is normally dark and velvety. Muscovado sugars provides good fruity aromas. The coffee is a chapter on its own. The green beans will first be treated alfa amylase, an enzyme brewers enjoy working with. Then we mash the green beans before drying and roasting them. This gives it the unique flavor Dark Horizon deserves. Share Dark Horizon with someone you think deserves it.

A very nice stout where the coffee doesn’t overwhelm all the other components of the beer. Not a lot to say beyond that, it’s got a fudgy character to it and is surprisingly very easy to drink for a Stout above 10% let alone 15% ABV.

8.5 oz bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs; thanks DuffMan). Looks good; a mostly opaque very dark cola with beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes good too; dark malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and roast. Some raisin and plum on the tongue as well. Mouthfeel is full-bodied, somewhat bitter, and pleasantly boozy. Intense, but good.

From a bottle. Huge aroma of port, pours thick with minimal head, warming like a winters fire, this is a serious beer.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pours opaque black with thin tan head. Nose sweet malt, chocolate, some dark fruit and raisin, mild coffee late. Taste dark roast coffee up front, moderate bitter chocolate, some raisin and date. Mid palate the alcohol shows up. Roast and fruit in the finish. Syrupy mouth feel. As it warms more chocolate in the aftertaste.
