UPDATED: MAY 13, 2012 Aroma of honey, nuts, herbs and berries. Appearance is chunky cloudy light brown with dusty tan head. Flavor reminds me of a barleywine, but with extra spices and such; the finish is quite boozy. Palate is creamy. Interesting.

Hazy pumpkin orange half inch head.Good carbonation.
Nice aroma of honey malt sweetness a mildly spiced berry with some big pasty breadiness, some oaklike notes maybe from honey, overall a nice sweet malty floral unique fruit berry, very slightly sour-like sourdough.
Taste is similar to aroma,on the sweet side but flavofull with some mild citrus tang towards the end slight lemon.Nice full mouthfeel. The sweet breadiness remides me of mikkeller hop series malt taste.Pretty good-glad i picked up this discontinued beer.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 superspak (761) - Michigan, USA - MAY 12, 2012
500 ml bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Gusher upon opening. Pours very cloudy reddish orange color with a small 1 finger off white head with good retention, that reduces to a very thin cap. Some light spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big honey, grape, pepper, molasses, raisin, herbal, cherry, floral, citrus peel, and yeast spices. Beautiful aromas here with great balance and complexity. Taste of caramel, honey, molasses, pepper, grape, raisin, earth, herbal, floral, citrus peel, banana, and yeast spices. Lingering notes of caramel, molasses, herbal, floral, grape, pepper, and yeast spices on the finish for a while. Great balance of flavors; with absolutely no cloying at all. Medium carbonation and full bodied; with a very nice creamy, slick, and thick mouthfeel. Alcohol is very well hidden at 11%, with only a warming after the finish noticed; definitely a slow sipper. Overall this is a great sahti! It felt a bit unbalanced at first; but it smoothed out as it reached room temperature. Really well done.

500 ml bottle shared @ Ölrepubliken. Pours hazy reddish orange with a small creamy white head that slowly dissipates while clinging to the glass leaving lots of lacing. Smell is sweet, fruity and floral with honey, plums, lemon zest, caramel, wood, hay, dried juniper berries and hints of oxidation. Taste is sweet and tiny sour and tiny metallic with loads of honey, wood, juniper berries, very dark sweet bread, hay, prunes, lemon zest and hints of quality tobacco. Mouthfeel is sticky sweet, round and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet with honey, flower nectar, wood and hay. Very sweet but good in small doses so share the bottle.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2012 Strong, sticky beer with too much honey aroma and disgusting honey taste (Are you Winnie the Pooh plush or like honey beer is here probably ok)

Bottle poured into a dimpled mug. Somehow this looks ancient, primitive, and very cool. It has so much sediment floating around, including some big chunks. The beer is mid brown and very unique. A nice noisy off white head gave up quickly. The smell comes at you with spices, honey, and is like a home recipe for the common cold. It tastes a little like that recipe, too. I note plenty of honey, earth galore, spices such as cinnamon, malt. This is not quite as primitive tasting as it appears and smells and sometimes resembles a mead. It is an interesting beer and is tasty, too. Glad I picked it up.

Bottle. Sour malt and a perfume (assuming this is the wormwood and heath) and juniper aroma. Sweet malt, perfume and moderately bitter juniper flavor - a hint of banana in the finish. Interesting - worth trying at least once.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Chipalsa (689) - Florida, USA - DEC 18, 2011
Bottle --> Snifter. Hazy orange in the body and with thin lacing. Smelled herbal and acidic/fruity with notes of pepper, oranges and leaves. With light hops and spices, flavors were malty and robust while finishing warm and earthy along with fruity undertones.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 beardfear (87) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - NOV 20, 2011
Pours a light amber with small head. Complex flavour profile: I picked up currants, dates, black forest cake, spice, orange zest, honey, toffee and a tinge of aniseed/cough-syrup towards the end. The 11% alcohol warmth is there but the flavour is dangerously well-masked. A touch over-sweet. Minimal perceived bitterness. Unique and original - vaguely reminiscent of dark Belgian strong ales like the Golden Draak.

Bottle, pours a hazy yellow, aroma is kind of like a chai tea or something, the taste is yeasty with wheat and spice and a wild combination of flavours, very interesting brew
