Tastes of dark chocolate, coffee, earth, wood, dark fruits, citric hops, some spices.
Full, oily mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.

A tasty, dark malty, creamy winter warmer. Very smooth to drink, the ABV is completely hidden. Really pleasant winter ale!

(Bottle from Systembolaget, brewed July 7, 2012) Pours lightly hazy cola color with a fairly small tan head that fades to a ring leaving lace. Aroma has overtones of sweet soy or hoisin sauce, oxidized? Beneath that, some toffee/caramel sweetness, toasted bready malt, a bit of dried fruit, like Christmas cake. Kind of hidden by that oxidized tang. Palate fairly sweet and malty, but dampened by oxidation’s metallic character. Core is least affected, with brown sugar, toffee, toast. Some of that dried fruit, muddled, maybe nuts or unsweetened chocolate hints. Finish is pretty much dominated by oxidation, dry and thin and lightly bitter. Bit thin bodied for the style with light prickly carb. Some alcohol in the aftertaste. I do not think this bottle is at its best, Systembolaget probably shouldn’t be selling things from previous years’ releases if they cannot store bottles properly. Disappointing, but I am not convinced the brewer is at fault for that at all. I would try a bottle again if bought fresh.

Przede wszystkim czekolada, a właściwie likier kakaowy i kawa espresso, lekkie palone nuty, suszone owoce. Ogólnie pachnie dość słodko i przyjemnie. Nagazowanie średnie do niskiego. Ogólnie bardzo szlachetnie, skrzyżowanie RISa i Porteru Bałtyckiego. Taka interpretacja piwa świątecznego przez browarników z Nogne O odpowiada mi najbardziej - nie potrzeba wcale masy różnych przypraw i pseudo pierników, żeby zrobić fantastyczny trunek na zimowe wieczory!

(przeprowadzka z excela: 2014-08-15, Czeska Baszta, kran) Dziwny, inny aromat - chyba najbardziej suszona sliwka, ale tez karmel, czekolada, kawa, chleb (duzo pumpernikla), generalnie aromat ciezki.
Jedno z dziwniejszych piw jakie pilem.

Bottle @ home. 2009 edition, BF 2013-06, aged approx 5 years. Almost back with a medium and lasting tan head. Delicious sweet, malty and vinous aroma of dark fruits, licorice, wood, biscuits and a bold caramel backbone. Also notes of spices, red berries, nuts and chocolate and a hint of sulfur. Quite dry, sweet and with a big mouth feel and smooth carbonation. Flavors of caramel, licorice, nuts, vinous raisins and dates, oranges and chocolate. Finish has charcoal, nuts, chocolate and spices with rather low but still okey bitterness. And it was a wonderful beer except....the lingering aftertaste carries some quite annoying metallic band aid notes (but then again, this one has been aged past it’s best before date)
