COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the US this is called "Winter Ale".

A dark ale brewed specially for the Christmas season, with a rich, complex taste of caramel. This is a strong, dark and rather sweet Christmas Beer – just the way we think a Christmas beer should be.

Recommended serving temperature 12°C/53°F. Great with cheese or nuts. Ingredients: Lager, Munich, caramel, black, and chocolate malt; Chinook, Columbus, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

19°P, 30 IBU, 8.5 % ABV.

Bottle pours dark and opaque with dense, beige colored head. The aroma smells of dark chocolate, mixed nuts, cigar ash, and dark fruit. The chocolate is extremely present in the flavor, also showing notes of cola and cinnamon. The overall mouthfeel is slick and oily with a sweet approach and slightly bitter finish. Good beer, anytime of the year!

Bottle. Pours a murky dark brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is of pine, caramel, spices like clove and cinnamon and some dark fruit. Flavor is of spices like clove, cinnamon and ginger along with caramel, dark fruit like raisins, some lightly roasted notes and a slightly tart note. The body is medium with a very smooth mouthfeel. Overall a really nice Christmas seasonal!

Pours verry ydark brown with a small tan head that falls fast. Very rich roasty nose, chocolate, caramel, and cherry. Fruity flavors show as it warms, light licorice note in the finish. Lots of hop character.

Bottle. 22 oz. Split with Sean on Christmas Eve. Pours dark, opaque brown with a creamy, thin amber head. Aroma of chicory, chocolate, figs, roasted malts, and bread. Medium bodied with a full, smooth mouthfeel and a slightly warming finish. Very good stron ale; very stout-like.

22 oz bottle served in a tulip. Pour is cola with two fingers of loose, beige head. Nose is caramel, dish soap, piney hops, cinnamon, nutmeg, and roasted malt. Taste almost a clone of the nose, with the finish being comprised of dish soap, caramel and spice. This is a very drinkable, "out there" strong ale. I enjoy the strong spice and attention to hop taste, without turning it into a black IPA or similar style that tastes like it. If the dish soap effect was toned down, this would easily be a 4.2 in my book. Despite this, it is still quite delicious!

Deep brown/black with nice tan head. Roasty, chocolatey and smokey bacon-like tones in the aroma and flavor.
