We usually do not make compromises, but this is probably the exception. Norwegians are dead scared of dark beers. This is an attempt to show that there are gentle dark ales. As such Havre Stout is smooth and drinkable.

We think Havre Stout is good both with and in food. Try pairing it with a read meet dish, or give your vanilla icecream a small dash before serving. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F.

Drunk 09/08/14 at the end of the night wi cam. day of sanding done, we had this on the balcony with the bacon stout. it pours black with a tan head. aroma of fresh coffee, vanilla, chocolate sauce. tastes pretty weird. its super sweet right away. toffee, raisins, coffee. then theres just a fuzzy mouthfeel with a slightly sour bitter aftertaste. like all the good malty flavour was missing from the middle. felt thin and without depth which is a shame. makes me wanna try more sweet stouts tho

Oslo at great family restaurant. A bit too sour / lactic for me, but good with reindeer dish I tried.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Dark and strong with some barley, roasted malt, toast and earth. Thick but quite easy drinkable with a smooth end.

Bottle from trade with Bamsen78 - many thanks, Marcin! The beer pours out in a deep black colour with smooth head and medium body. Aroma of malt and cream with some nutty hints. Taste of malt, coffee, vanilla, chocolate, icecream, milk and torf. Easy drinkable with a smooth finish. Nice one but hoped for more. Probably too sweet for me.

Bottle at home. Dark brown with eager head, had to rest it five minutes to complete pouring into beer stein. Smells of sweet oats and very light roasting. Tastes bitter and watery. Would prefer darker and more oily beverages. Good low alcohol drink though.

Ikke veldig fremtredende duft. Nesten sort med fint skum. Myk smak, overrasker i forhold til hvor mørkt det er.

From bottle: BBD: 27.11.14 Pours nice dark brown liquid (almost black), minimal but stable brown head. Aroma: espresso-roasted tones, dark chocolate, milk tones, sweet tones. Taste: light to medium sweet, medium bitter, light sour. Smooth gentle taste. Not very intensive but very drinkable. milk chocolate, light coffee, sweet. Palate: light body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, long bitter roasted sweet finish. Overall: Nice Sweet Stout, interesting, but quite weak, too gentle, under-carbonated. Tried to pair with prosciutto and worked quite well.

Pleasant coffee and chocolate aroma. Small but very durable beige head. Almost completely black body. Delicate malty and oat sweetness with some chocolate.
