3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, Vinmonopolet. Dark reddish brown. Not much head, but that could be the fault of my glass, not the beer itself. Roasted, smoky aroma with notes of coffee and fruits/berries, milk chocolate. The flavor is smoked wood, dark malts, earthy hops. I can’t really name any other flavors. Very clean. I find this to be very well balanced, very easy to drink. The smoky flavors is very well integrated, very round and smooth. I’d say the mouthfeel is medium to light - or - it feels quite thick in the mouth, but on the other hand it is very easy to drink - so it might be more appropriate to say light body, but thick texture? There’s very little sweetness. Some bitterness and hop flavors come through in the finish. The carbonation is very soft/low.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear but dark brown with a medium sized beige to tan head. Smoke on the nose, crisp and smooth malt, a touch of toast and just the faintest lagery graininess. Medium bodied, smokey and smooth. Thins out a touch in terms of flavors, still some grain and a nice enough amount of smoke. Slow light smoke lingers for a while.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
0,5l bottle@home. Finally it arrived and finally i got to have a real taste of this. Pours nice and thick, with a sandy head that disseapers quickly. A bit disseapointing on the nose compared to what i expected, light peat a bit of venison and sea spray. Taste of smokey meat, toffee and dark fruits. Very nice, as i thought it would be. A real good rauchbier.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hey man it’s Nogne0 you can’t go wrong.
What I liked about this brew was the way they blended the smoke, roast, coffee and hop together without a smokey over bearing flavor. It was a good blend.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Vinmonopolet Bodø. I was very excited about this, since I was lucky enough to get a taste of the original before it was sent to the Norwegian homebrewers championship. In my opinion the original is better. The smoke flavor is kinder in this version, but still very present. A very good rauchbier.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (50cl) from Vinmonopolet (Vika), Oslo. Clear, dark brown with a ruby hue. Half-inch light beige, fine-bubbled head that leaves a little bit of lacing. Aroma of smokey, roasted malt, fruit, soy sauce, cheese, licorice, cola. Taste is somewhat sweet upfront, then a dry, woody bitterness takes over, dominated by smoke and licorice. Very good balance overall. Long aftertaste that eventually turns a bit papery and vegetal. Medium body, soft/average carbonation. Mouthfeel is a little watery, but reasonable at this ABV.
