Aroma is citric fruit, mango, raisin, dark berries. On the palate is a crescendo of rum raisin, dark fruit, citrus peel, followed by more rum as it rolls over your tongue but a with a smooth creamy mouthfeel. Finishes with a spicy hop bitter kick and a creeping lip puckering dryness. Awesome, awesome beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 superspak (1480) - Michigan, USA - MAY 11, 2013
500 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours very hazy nearly pitch black color with a nice 2 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, light roast, light chocolate, dark bread, floral, light dark fruits, light pine, and toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malty notes with slight hops; with good strength. Taste of caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, dark bread, light roast, light chocolate, floral, light pine, and toasted earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, dark bread, light roast, light chocolate, floral, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of toasted malt flavors with light hops; with nice robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very creamy and moderately slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial brown ale. All around nice balance, complexity, and robustness of flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Wolfbass (742) - Firenze, ITALY - APR 2, 2013
Grandi...
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Marheb (1178) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 1, 2013

500ml bottle from IPB.
Appearance : Dark amber with med foamy and creamy brown head.
Aroma : Piny and resinous hops with brown sugar. Quite malty, light red fruits. Slightly citrusy.
Taste : Citrusy and piny hops with rich malty notes. Brown sugar with light caramel. Toffee. Finish citrusy and piny with lots of malt. Persistent piny notes with resinous bitterness. Not much alcohol. Tiny phenolic notes here and there.
Palate : Carbonation is quite soft but it suits the beer quite well. Medium palate. Quite a nice palate overall.
Overall : Really well rounded beer. Note sure why this is an english strong ale with all the american hops used. Can’t figure why American Strong Ale didn’t fit this. Anyhow, this is a very well balanced and well presented hoppy brown ale. Nice palate, nice balance between hops and malt, nice appearance. Not much negative stuff to say about this.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 SlovakSniper (2123) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 24, 2013
Une bouteille de 50 cl. Batch 812.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 rodenbach99 (2510) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 22, 2013
