There is a long story to this malty ale. It was first brewed in the spring 2006 in Nørrebro Bryghus in Copenhagen, Denmark, as a joint brew between Nøgne Ø and Nørrebro. Nørrebro calls their version “Double Knot Brown”. It is the perfect thing to drink with almost any cheese.

Recommended serving temperature 12°C/50°F. Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, brown, amber, Munich and caramel malt; Columbus, Chinook and E K Golding hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

Bottle. Pours lively, big frothy nut brown head, lays to a sticky covering. Aroma is citric fruit, mango, raisin, dark berries. On the palate is a crescendo of rum raisin, dark fruit, citrus peel, followed by more rum as it rolls over your tongue but a with a smooth creamy mouthfeel. Finishes with a spicy hop bitter kick and a creeping lip puckering dryness. Awesome, awesome beer.

Bottiglia 50 cl bevuta a casa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhold

Pours a very cloudy dark brown with lots if sediment. Not much aroma but lots of dark malt, coffee and dmoke flavors. A very good brown ale overall.

Butelka 0.5L.
Wygląd: Brunatne, klarowne z rubinowymi prześwitami. Piana bardzo obfita, jasnobeżowa, drobno i średniopęcherzykowa. Głośno syczy zmieniając się w duże bąbla i opadając.
Aromat: lekko metaliczny, chlebowy, kawa rozpuszczalna, trochę czekolady, czuć amerykańskie chmiele: dojrzałe owoce, melon, mango i trochę żywicy ale nie przykrywają pozostałych aromatów - nie dominują. Lekka nuta alkoholowa.

Appearance: Dark brown/black with 3 finger beige/tan head. Aroma: Chocolate, prune, treacle, peat, umami, resinous, liquorice, fruit cake, malt loaf. Taste: Medium bitterness, low/medium sweetness with low sourness and a slight saltiness. Palate: Thick fairly smooth texture, medium body, lively on opening but generally average carbonation, dry, burnt bitter toffee, treacle, earth, malty finish. Comments: Very tasty and glass lace.

weak memories about but still - medium+ bodied, medium dark brown, with beige, thick, rich foam; within flavor - toasted malt light bitterness, no sour touch from amber malt, for imperial brown ale it is not so malty and "brown" as I prefer, no nutty hints. Just good ale with lots of dark malt tones.
