0,5 l bottle. Pours clear dark red brown with a large tanned creamy head.
A fantastic aroma which is so comprehensive that it’s really hard to dissect it all. Passion fruit, apricot, syrup, berries, perfume, alcohol, coriander... Fresh and inviting!.
Although the initial impact of the beer is a bit overwhelming, the transition to a more subtle phase is quick. Tastes sweet and light bitter with the alcohol well hidden, hints of coriander. Long after taste of roasted caramel and cardamom.
Medium bodied. Smooth.
Definitely recommended!
Looking at earlier ratings it would seem like the draught version was nothing like the bottled version.

Denne falt veldig i smak, flott og kompleks. Tydelig banansmak som jeg er veldig glad i i øl. Mulig det var noe sjokolade der og. Funker bra til banansplit?

Appearance: Pours an iced tea brown with a foamy gathering of head.
Aroma: Lime lollipop.
Taste: Sage, bread crust and wood.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation.
Overall: One of the best beers I tried in a long lineup of stuff I dried at 2010 DarkLordDay.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 unclemattie (3705) - Georgia, USA - FEB 28, 2013
.5L bottle. 10% ABV. Dark brown color, light tan head. Loads of fruity pebbles cereal in the nose. Lots of coriander, and orange peel scent. A Yankee candle, but a good one. Long legs running down the glass. Thick bodied, and whoa strong. Well balanced flavor, dark malt, sweet, and nice floral fruit essence in the finish. Very strong and even more flavorful than anticipated.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2011 Tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Hazy brown color, almost no head (beige). Aroma is coriander, a bit acidicity and oak. Flavor is spicy (coriander, anis), orange peel, moderate sweetness, a bit vinous, yeast, oak, hops and alcohol. Moderate carbonation. Lots of tastes, but not in balance. Strange beer, indeed. 8-2-7-3-14=3,4.
Re-rate, bottle (batch #439): Balanced after 1,5 years in bottle. Lovely.

Pours a one finger cream head that fades quickly to a ring leaving some lace. Medium carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Clear, deep amber/brown color. Nose is caramel/malty. Flavor is caramel, sweet spices. Clean caramel finish. Why is the good stuff so pricey?? $9.95 for a 500ml bottle from Colonial Spirits, Acton, MA.

Bottle from South Bay Drugs: Created a thick fluffy layer of foamed head and the liquid rested as a dark shade of brown. The aroma is funky with a scent of wet dough and bready yeast but there are some floral notes of honey or pollen from some freshly picked flowers while also smelling very similar to a box of baklava. The flavor is no different, with a thick and heavy flavor of fresh baklava that is drenched in honey or syrup while other nuts commonly used in the sweet Arabic dessert become more apparent too. This is a rich and robust drink that boasts a wide range of flavors and surprisingly tastes more Arabic than German, but then again I grew up on Middle Eastern cuisine and desserts.
