COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nothing is like celebrating your own milestones. This is a celebration of our 500th batch of ale. It was brewed with joy and splendor; the brewer wore a suit, and a TV station filmed the event. As a base for this ale, we have elected to play with numbers: 5 hops, 100 IBUs, 10% alcohol by volume. Indeed it is an Imperial India Pale Ale. Big and bold. Great for a celebration!

Keg @ George & Dragon, Barcelona 2013/5/21 An absolutely delicious DIPA with a body and alcohol taste that embarrases its ABV. Very rare fore to find a beer of this strength that I can enjoy. Full of flavour and aroma. Fantastic.

500ml bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown color with an average size tan head. Aroma of earthy hops and caramel malt. Taste is also a mix of caramel malt, with notes of earthy hops, and a mild bitter finish.

50cl Bottle from De Hopduvel, Gent, as Batch # 500. Slightly hazy ruby orange/amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of oranges, mandarin, strawberries, very sweet, malty, caramel, syrup, sweet grapefruit. Flavour is sweet, malty, fruity, caramel, oranges, mandarin, grapefruit, light earthy hops, resin, bitter finish. Full-bodied, soft carbonation. Nice sipper, but a bit on the sweet side.

Massive aroma of raisins followed up by a worrying lack of Hop hit. Not sure if it’s the yeast used that inhibits the hops or just not enough hops in the first place. Big fan of the old Naked Island, met the Giant of Nogne last year and I must say that it was a delight. However, I do believe that Nogne’s strength is with the darker stuff. A little disappointed to be honest, this could almost pass as a Scotch Ale. This is DIPA people!

Cold bottle. My first Nogne beer. It’s about a year old, which is too old for an IPA. BBE 2016 though. Orange brown, big head with poor retention. Rose water, some caramel, floral hops, a little chocolatey, rich dried fruits, resin. More barleywine qualities than IPA. Alcohol fairly well hidden. Although there is complexity in the flavour, it doesn’t come together very well. It’s like a better version of the ’Stone Arrogant Bastard’.

Hazy brown with off white head. Complex aroma of pine, liquirce, dark fruit, molasses, coffee and citrus. Taste is caramely, pine, cofeee, dark fruit, cotrus and leaves a bitter, caramely aftertaste with hints of citrus and pine. Creamy, well balanced. A great beer!

WOW! A great beer! I’ve never smelled so many aromas in one beer. I felt detected vanilla custard citrus... my wife think’s I’m crazy, but this is one great beer. I prefer dark beers, but this blew my mind as an IPA. Even though it is 10%, it didn’t have a big alcohol burn, however, the price for the pint did burn my wallet...

Bottle. Hazy orange brown pour with an off white head. Citrus, bread, apricot, peach. Bitter sweat and not overwhelming. Malty caramel. Very nice ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
