This beer is something between IPA and barley wine, and is closer to the latter. Absolutely breathtaking!

Medium to thin head over deep dark golden beer. Good aroma intensity of citric and piney hops, a faint fruity funk adds interest. Full-bodied, well-carbonated and rounded bitter attack, good maltiness on the midpalate with some fruity and caramel sweetness lingering before the finish bitterness takes over, slightly homogenous exit. Hight quality, for sure, but not this either the one to convert me into an IPA zealot.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught at Craft Bier Fest Wien.
Brown body, with a big, creamy, dark beige head.
Aroma of nuts, slight roast, dark berries, tropical fruits, citrus.
Smooth and complex taste of chocolate, nuts, earth, slight coffee, citrus, berries, peach, tropical fruits, biscuit.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes bitter, but smooth, with citrus and dark malts.
Wow, tasty! A really unique DIPA, that is quite dark in look and taste, with a broad, smooth malt body and loads of various fruity hops. Complex and very smooth to drink, ABV isn’t noticable. This was my highlight at Craft Bier Fest Wien!

Orange to brown colour, pretty long lasting head and some lacing too. Aroma has citrus, orange, tropical fruits and sweet berries. Aroma starts with orange, then citrus, sweet berries. Maybe some citrus-ish herbs too. Really thick and smooth mouth feel. Bold DIPA and very tasty too.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a caramel-orange color with a small foamy yellow-white head that faded quickly but left decent lacing. The aroma was very sweet sugar, tropical fruits, pineapple and fruit cocktail. The flavor was tangy, bitter and a bit sour with pineapple, fruit cocktail, a medicinal presence and a doughy off undertone. Very long tangy fruit cocktail finish. Full bodied and syrupy. Quite nice.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at Beer Temple. Pours very hazy Amber brown with an off white head. Aroma of cheesy malt upfront, massively so, with grapefruit, pine and resinous hops hidden behind. Flavour is light heavy sweet and bitter. Strangely raspberry coming out in the palate on the finish. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A pretty awesome Imperial IPA with a bit of a barley wine esque profile. Pours a caramel amber colour with a yellowish head 2 or 3 fingers high. The nose has significant alcohol aromas as well as a heavy pine and citrus hop laden nose. A bit sweet and malty in the middle with a nice toffee and caramel malt base. Hops aplenty with big lemony citrus notes and resinous flavours. The finish is tangy and lingers on for a while with hop bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. A powerful blend of malty and hoppy notes, ranging from pumpernikel bread, raisins and candy to lychee, citrus, flowers and peach. Fruity and spicy, also a bit boozy. Lots of flavour depth, also lots of sweetness but the senses are distracted from concentrating too much of the latter by means of the depth, the alcohol and the bitterness. That being told, because of the massive, chewy malty body the 100 IBUs are far from being overpowering. Very tasty evening sipper, not the best one from Nogne by far but definitely enjoyable.
