Nothing is like celebrating your own milestones. This is a celebration of our 500th batch of ale. It was brewed with joy and splendor; the brewer wore a suit, and a TV station filmed the event. As a base for this ale, we have elected to play with numbers: 5 hops, 100 IBUs, 10% alcohol by volume. Indeed it is an Imperial India Pale Ale. Big and bold. Great for a celebration!

Bottle. Chunky dark golden pour with a generous head. Noes of urine, sweat, grapefruit with some vanilla. Might have been something wrong with this bottle?

Bottle, batch 1294. Pours hazy golden, with a nice, finger thick creamy head. Aroma is bitter hops, with pine needles, resin, sweet citrus and tropical notes of mango and peach, as well as a nice back of roasted malts with grain and toffee. Full creamy body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is bitter hops with resin, pine, orange peel and grapefruit, some tropical notes, and a solid malt backbone with light roasted malts. Lingering bitter finish, with a kaleidoscopic mix of bittering hops.

Rating #500! Bottle. Purs really hazy dark orange with small white head and big chunks of yeast. Aroma is bland, slight cat-pis, malt, old hops, bread, slight candy. Taste is sweet and malty, some liquorice, dry medium bitter finish. Rather full body and creamy carbonation. Think this one was off..

the aroma is hoppy and, a little bit, fruity with some hints of pine, lemon and spicy herbs... the taste is rough, hoppy and fruity, with notes of pine needles, spicy grasses, garden fruits and black currant... the aftertaste is dry, bitter and spicy...

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2015 Bottle shared on the beach. Slight hazy amber with short lasting off white head. Strong citrus aroma but also a quite citrus-like taste with fruity tartness. Pine, dank hops, nice sweet nutty malts underneath, quite sweet but not overpowering the nice hops. Some fresh aromatic Italian herbs and light Indian spices towards the finish. Medium to full bodied. Nice beer but a bit much.
