Nothing is like celebrating your own milestones. This is a celebration of our 500th batch of ale. It was brewed with joy and splendor; the brewer wore a suit, and a TV station filmed the event. As a base for this ale, we have elected to play with numbers: 5 hops, 100 IBUs, 10% alcohol by volume. Indeed it is an Imperial India Pale Ale. Big and bold. Great for a celebration!

Pine and citrus on the nose. A full body with a rich caramel backbone and a hint of molasses and brown sugar. Lots of fruity flavours of citrus and stone fruits from the hops. Medium bitterness. Nice smooth and oily texture on the tongue. A great imperial IPA.

Deeper amber colored, cloudy, lots of floaters, medium to strong off white creamy head. Aroma is of fruits and floral hops, caramalt background but also carob and walnut. Taste is medium+ sweet caramel malt, some fruitiness, carob and walnut and lots of them, some toasted notes, alcohol, low+ bitterness. Medium to full bodied, moderate carbonation, thick and sticky. An old bottle, so lots of aged notes and a dead IPA unfortunately. A shame, especially since I’m sure it was delicious when fresh :( (ancient bottle, Bottle Park, Bratislava, SK)

An incredibly rich and hoppy Imperial IPA. Malty enough to be almost a barley wine, but intensely fruity, mainly because it is dry hopped with generous amounts of Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand. This beer has a reddish brown appearance, more towards amber brown and was quite murky. Not the prettiest of DIPA to look at due to the cloudy body but this is long forgotten when one moves on to the aroma and taste. This type of beer I could spend hours and hours just sniffing it, I LOVE the aroma to this beer where it has all my favorite characteristics, tropical fruits, hugs amounts of sweet citrusy fruits, sweet malts, pine and resin. Right away one can tell that this beer is highly hopped but also has huge amounts of malts to back this up and the balance is just perfect. The body was sweet, oily and quite meaty with an abundance of exotic fruits bursting out. The sweet malt backbone is very caramel/toffee on the tongue and it is easy to see why many people say this beer is between a very hoppy IPA and a Barleywine.

Salty and bit solvent like aroma. Great looking beer. Palate is awful, mouthcoating, milky, thick no carbonation, awful. Nothing I look for in an IPA. The actual taste is alcoholic, mid palate bitterness, fruity, dates not bad.

Bottle. Chunky dark golden pour with a generous head. Noes of urine, sweat, grapefruit with some vanilla. Might have been something wrong with this bottle?
