@ Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Amber brown colour, very fruity aroma (plums, figs), caramel and honey. Bitter finish with citrus notes. Well balanced beer.

Rather dark, orangey amber pour with plenty of sediments. Looking and smelling like an American Barley Wine. Highly citrusy, gently earthy, not necessarily very fresh aroma where a lot of crystal malt get through the hops’ resins. Nothing particularly standing out compared to the sea of malty double IPAs out there, but potent flavours, well maked alcohol considering the 10% tag and a solid, healthy texture, relatively round, yet very bitter albeit balance efficiently by the caramel and biscuity, bready pudding allusions. Not quite the show-stopper you’d expect a celebratory numbered batch to be, but a solid strong hoppy ale.

500ml bottle. Nice copper ambery with an off white head, fair amount of sediment. Apricot liquor but more skin then sweetness, fair amount of sweet malt, old pine. Full body, moderate to mild carbonation, sweet with grapefruit/bitter undertones, alcohol provides a nice heat without overwhelming the beer, becomes dry and fruity with a slightly spicy kick. Would like to try this a little fresher but still delicious.

Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a cloudy amber with an off white head leaving superb lacing. Nose full of honey, caramel, pine hops and booze. Taste is quite sweet upfront, lots of toffee and caramel. Then the resinous citrus and pine hops come through bringing a massive bitterness! Wow this stuff drys ya mouth out. Very chewy. Alcohol warms you up as well. Massive beer
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 rarbring (706) - Linköping, SWEDEN - FEB 25, 2013
Aroma: The smell is citric, some honey sweetness, but mainly hoppy grassy tones. Appearance: A clouded amber beer with an off-white head leaving good lacing and curtains. Taste: The taste is initially sweet, toffee and caramel, then some porridge with honey, bitter oranges, a sherry nuance, and grape-fruit peel. Palate: Medium carbonation, soft and oily, big body and good long dry finish. Overall: Still a really, really nice DIPA. Note: Bottle 500 ml, batch 758. Reviewed 2013-02-25.

spruce, floral, caramel, a rich and warming beer. Alcohol not too prominent.Perfect in the mouth, even with spinach pizza. This is a great beer, overall enjoyable, with food or alone.
