Nothing is like celebrating your own milestones. This is a celebration of our 500th batch of ale. It was brewed with joy and splendor; the brewer wore a suit, and a TV station filmed the event. As a base for this ale, we have elected to play with numbers: 5 hops, 100 IBUs, 10% alcohol by volume. Indeed it is an Imperial India Pale Ale. Big and bold. Great for a celebration!

50cl bottle at home. Aroma: oily hops, not as frutiy as expected. Something strange in nose as well: something cheesy / sweaty sock. Taste: piney hops, orange, bitter and also quite sweet. Alcohol in the finish

Bottle at home, batch nr.1262. Slightly hazy orange colour, white creamy head. Hoppy citrus and orange zest dominate the nose. These aromatic hoppy tones hit the tongue first too, then caramel malty sweetness with resinous, petroleum-like and marmalade hoppyness kicks in, followed by big bitterness and alcoholic warmth. Complex altogether, with a long finish. Firm and really full body, medium carbonation, oily mouthfeel.

Pours a hazy golden orange with a thick and creamy off-white head. Sweet aroma of orange zest, herbs, dried fruit and honey. Full body, oily feel, medium carbonation. Taste starts off very rich and vinous with lots of hops and some alcohol before moving towards caramel, malt and citrus. I wouldn’t be surprised if I woke up next morning with this looong and bittersweet finish. A real powerhouse IIPA.

500ml bottle. Brewed january 2014. Pours hazy orange golden with a low off white head. Aroma is malts, sweet and candied fruits, marmalade. Hops gone due to the time. Taste is similar with caramel and fruity notes. Final bitterness still present but without particular flavors. Medium body, medium carbonation. Should have had it fresher.

A great round, hoppy, fruity aroma. Colour is very beautiful: dark cloudy orange. The taste is very complex and quite interesting, the bitterness is very well balanced. I just thought it’s a little bit too sweet. But overally a great beer!

Bottle, dipa and barley wine at the same time. Sweetness and bitterness, dry malty finish, that’s just a little aftertaste but on tap aftertaste and aroma is better.
