3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
250 ml bottle. A black body with a thin brown head. Aroma is a bit milder than expected, still quite obvious. Roasted malt, coffee, dry fruit, wood and alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, rather alcoholic, roasted coffee, dark chocolate, dry fruit and wood. The body feels probably lighter than it really is, but it feels OK as it is. Aftertaste is same as the main taste and stays along. Overall this beer surprises me a bit. The Imperial Stout flavor is somehow somewhere in the background and the flavor from the barrel feels rather boozy but not too typical whisky or whatever, its more wood and alcohol in general. Takes a few sips to get used to it, not unpleasant but I prefer the original Imperial Stout.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass dark black, nice head. Starts heavy malty, intense earthy-stouty, bitter background with light fruity hints. Finish with coffee notes, earthy-woody. Not bad!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Odense Late Summer Post-Munkekonge Whale Spotting Night. Jet black with a big tan head. Roasted aroma with licorice, caramel, coffee and a hint of smoke. Sweet roasted flavour with lots of licorice. Smoked notes and a burnt, ashy finish. I far prefer the fresh, regular imperial stout with all its hops

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
250 ml bottle from Birra+ (#2297). Pitch black, absolutely no light passing through, with a huge, creamy, dark brown head which dissipated rather quickly. Huge booziness on the nose, quite sweet smelling, lots of cane sugar, toffee candy, vanilla, wood, dark caramel, a hint of salty soy sauce. Completely different in the mouth from what I was expecting. solid bitter dark chocolate and freshly roasted coffee beans presence, slightly ashy, definitel sweet but not as cloying as the aroma indicated. Not much barrel treatment, at least to my taste. There is just a subtle and tiny sourness, which imho is great as palate cleansing. Soft to average carbonation, medium to full body, oily and sticky texture. Different, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.
