Bouteille 25cl, #1999, batch#723/73/, BB 01/12/2015, anno 2011 vintage.

Bottle brewed in 2011 at home (3 years later). Poured a clear dark red with a brown slight head. Cognac aroma, with coffee, chocolate and roast meat. Tastes bitter and delicious. I really appreciate the moderate barrel effect applied to the beer. Lovely!

Bottle from Bottle Park. Brewed 01/12/11. Aroma intense, chocolate, fruity, cherries, alcohol, some smoky notes. Almost black colour, dark brown head, rather stable. Oily texture. Taste is sweet, chocolate, smoky, rich malty profile. Alcohol poking out rather unpleasantly. This is not ultra high ABV, so alcohol could be far better hidden. Also the overall impression was rich, but lacking when compared to other Imperial Stouts. Enjoyable beer, but definitely does not reach 4.

Bottle shared with friend from Celestin, Lille - FR. Color: dark black beer with no carbonation and small brown head. Smell: high malt and sugar domination with notes of barrel. Domiation of alcohol notes. Taste: well balanced of malt and alcohol? Good drinkable. Really recommended. Aftertaste: alcohol and malt with caramel.

250ml bottle - thanks VastActiv and the rest of the Hel crowd!
Hint of whisky in the aroma, but a decent roast too. Black, dark brown head. Fairly smooth initially, but doesn’t lake long before it’s actually harsh. Kind of hard to drink, as it’s aggressive in the mouth, but it does have a nice finish. Plenty of resiny vapours. I did want to like this, but, yet again, it’s not as good as the version that didn’t go into the spirit barrel. Burntness and alcohol too much, but the breadier roastier parts were nice.

(Bottle, 0.25 l - BB 01/12/15, courtesy of VastActiv, 20141122) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had vineousness, roasted malts and sweetness. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were vineousness, sweetness, burnt malts, vanilla and bitterness. Aftertaste had wood and bitterness. A messed up version of a good imperial stout.
