Bottle from Deconinck, Vichte. Dark brown/black colour, thin layer of dark brown foam. Soft carbonation. Complex aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee, also hints of oak. Taste is good but a bit thinner than expected. Sweet/bitter with bitter finish. Good imperial stout.

Black pour with foam head. Aroma is quite strange - not bad or good but hard to place - maybe some dark fruits mixed with molasses? Taste is the classic nogne imperial stout. Easy going dark malt roast, dark fruits, nice sweetness. Nice medium body from carbonation. Good savoury stout.

Dark and dangerous. Tastes like tar and chocolate with the dark force to strengthen it's spirit. Very good stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Oily black beer, with a foamy brown head. Delicious aroma of vanilla and malt. Taste of sweet cacao, oak, bitter coffee, cookie and even some hops. The aging gives the beer a layer of warming vanilla. Good one.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a beautiful, enormous creamy chocolate brown head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts with cocoa, leather and wooden barrels, as well as dark fruits, cherries Medium to full body with oily texture, and soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet burned malts with coffee, dark fruits and tobacco, as well as notes of wood, cocoa and some alcohol. Sweet malty finish.

Bottled. Thanks veliemboys. Pours a pitch black colour without a head. Aroma is rather weird; overly ripe fruitiness, wood, shoe cream and licorice. Flavour of roasted malts, burning alcohol, salt, astrigent and a huge amount of licorice. Some unpleasant sourness as well, which gets stronger as it warms up. Medium bodied and oily mouthfeel with a mouthdrying finish. Unfinished and somewhat unpleasant.

25 cl bottle. Bottle #03971. Batch 723/731. Brewed on 01.12.2011. BBE 01.12.2015.
Pours pitch black color with a large beige head, looks very nice. Very damp stuffy aroma, some dark fruity notes, lots of dark roasted malts, vanilla, some chocolate and wood. Harsh bitter dark malts, faint vanilla, tangy dark fruits and some cocoa. Not sure if this is still okay, feels a bit harsh and off somehow. Decent but quite disappointing.

25 cl bottle @ home. Batch #723/731: brewed 01.12.2011, BBE 01.12.2015. Bottle #03971
Aroma has some licorice, soy sauce and sweet apple tones (cognac?). Flavour is somewhat tart with oat, chocolate, salty licorice and some soy sauce. Finishes with deep roasted notes. One can observe the regular NØIS in the background. Warming alcohol in the finish. Not that nice, tartness ruins the show here. A bit infected?

Bottle #03791, batch 723/731, brygget 01/12/11 - Pours pitch black with a really nice looking thick brown head. Aroma of stingy wood, tart apples, roasty malts, buttery bourbon and vanilla. Taste is stingy, roasty and sourish with some bourbon and vanilla notes. Finish is stingy and woody with some roastiness and tart notes. Feels a bit off, perhaps slightly infected.

Coffee, berries, dark chocolate, licorice, olive oil and leather in the aroma. Black with a brown head. Medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter. Full body with a soft carbonation. Overall a beautiful Imperial Stout, coffee and licorice most dominant in the flavour and with some nice warming alcohol in the back.
