really good imperial. pours dark black with minimal head which dissipates quickly. very nice aroma, with a winey characteristic that reminds me slightly of black and black hole (which are 2 of my favs) The taste didn’t disappoint. Coffee and chocolate in the taste. Not as hoppy as other imperials. Slightly sweeter which I really enjoyed. Low carbonation. Really good brew

Bottle, pours a very dark black color with a thin tan head. Slightly sweet aroma, very subtle hops. Roasted coffee, chocolate, nice dry finish, Great body and compostion, a quality imperial stout, not as hoppy as I like but very good.

50cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Batch 264. It poured a dark black colour with a big light-brown creamy head that settles down very slowly in the glass. The aroma smells of coffee, dark chocolate, licorice, malts and alcohol. The flavour is spicy and bitter and tastes of dark roasted coffee and malts, mocca and alcohol. It has a long, lingering aftertaste.

Rating #100 for me.. This is a nice stout. Pours black with quite a head (one-finger) that is almost chewy. Aroma is coffee and dark fruit. Taste is coffee and bitter chocolate - dark fruit is not very noticeable. Mouthfeel is decent but not the oily thickness of the master IRS’s. Very smooth and the alcohol is not noticeable at all (although not as high as many IRS’s). Overall, a very strong effort and one of the better IRS’s on the market.

Bottle. Completely black pour with a small head. It looked as though a big pillowy head would develope but my pour wasn’t very aggressive. Some small spotted lacing developed though even with a tiny head. Aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, and coffee; however it isn’t very strong. I don’t pick up the hop present in the aroma but I can definitely taste the bittering effects acting against the sweetness. Coats the mouthfeel while swallowed and leaves a big aftertaste while being highly drinkable at the same time.

Poured jet black from the bottle with a frothy brown head that takes forever to dissapate. Plenty of cream, cocoa, and alcohol on the nose with traces of all three as well as raisin and espresso in the flavor. Very balanced, syruppy, budy with plenty on heat on the finish. The clumpy residue at the bottom of the glass is like a prize.

Flavor is heavy on roasted malts, bitter sweet coffee, and dark chocolate. The hop bitterness blends perfectly with these to create a very long, satisfying finish that includes roasted nuts and brownies. Highly enjoyable and drinkable. Outstanding beer. Silky mouthfeel with low carbonation.

Opaque dark pour with a small brown head. Aroma was coffee. Taste was smooth and changing. Very complex. Starts with a hint of grapes. Then moves through a dark chocolate stage and finishes with a flavor of coffee. Nice.
