500ml bottle. pours opaque black. very very black with dark brown head. aroma is bitter, of molasess and coffee. Full mouth feel, bitter, coffee and dry after taste.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2013 Svart med brunt skum. Kraftig aroma av lær, kaffe, sjokolade og grønne oliven. Fyldig munnfølelse som matcher duften og legger til litt lakris og røyk. Fin middels bitterhet og en rund lang ettersmak. Litt lite kullsyre. Munkegata 15.02.13.

Good beer with bice aroma of chocolate, coffee and perhaps some cherry. But what makes it unique? Obviously a quality brewery but can’t really twll this apart from the other RISs. They’re always nice though.

500ml bottle. Black with a brown creamy head. Anise, dark chocolate, roasted and dark malt, alcohol, prune, little hot. Full body and mild carbonation, viscous, incredibly dry, malty, some celery. What a delicious beer.

Amertume café en tout tout fin de bouche

500ml bottle @Cimmeria. Nice intense coffee, cacao and nut aromas, some caramel. Pours very dark, opaque, with nice creamy tan head, some persistance and lacing. Full body, creamy, oily, soft carbonated. Taste is smooth bitter, strong coffee flavours, chocolate, nuts, some liquorice and subtle smoky notes. Very long warm and dry aftertaste. Really enjoyable, very well balanced.

Wow, what a beer.
Black black color, with a a nice beige foamy head.
Dark, roasted aromas. Same in taste, with a touch of vanilla sweetness.
Very very nice beer, which I was lucky to have from the tap of Moeder Lambic, Brussels.

Pour is motor oil black with a finger-wide tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, smoked wood, and dark bitter chocolate. Flavor is much like the aroma but lacking in depth and character. Starts off with a nice smoked/burnt chocolate flavor but not much after that. Its a good stout, but a little too sweet and a little too thin.

Pours a beautiful satiny black with dark dark head...which fades very quickly into an offwhite ring around the snifter. Nice chocolate syrup and brownie batter aromas, with a touch of sour. Flavours are nice milk chocolate, sour cherries, cream, and some anise. The finish is some coffee and sour, also roasted malts. Very well balanced stout. Nice.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. I love the aroma, which is very deeply smoky and tasty smelling. Beautiful head. I like the flavour at first, which is sweetly smoky, but then it turns bitter and I’m not a fan of that aspect.
