Dark as night with a huge brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Not a lot of sweetness though. Flavor is bitter malt with roasted almost burnt flavor. Dry finish cuts the burnt flavor quickly. Nice beer, a little different, but very nice.

Bottle. Black color with a brown head. Aroma: Dark fruit, licorice, coffee, bitter hops and smoke. Flavor: Roasted and bitter, licorice, bitter hops, espresso, dark chocolate, toffee, maybe some sweet fruit, and a bit of alcohol. Roasted and bitter dry finish. Full bodied. Nice, but not a beer I would drink a lot of.

Aroma is smoky, burned wood, dark chocolate and espresso, black, small cappuccino head. Strong taste of roast coffee, liquorice and dark chocolate. Absolutely well balanced, bitter as well. Fantastic!

Bottle. Pours a deep black with medium brown head. Aroma is malty, lightly roasty. Flavor is heavy with the chocolates, dark and milk. Some milky coffee is involved as well. The real treat is a nearly perfect mouthfeel, creamy but not too much so, thick but drinkable, and smooth. Finish is fairly short with some alcohol evident. Good stuff.

Totally a beer you drink with a knife and a fork. Definitely not for everybody. Deep and perfect to have with a dessert. I like it.

Black with a dense brown head. Aroma of coffee, liqourice and roasted malts. I expected more from the flavour that is marked by liqourice, salt, candy sugar, plumes and coffee but not in a potent way. I have a couple of different vintage years stacked in the cellar, so I’ll see if it improves...
