Pours pitch black with a nice creamy tan head. Aromas are of dark chocolate, roasted malts, hints of coffee, and some dark fruits. Taste is very similar to its smell. A heavy roasted flavor is followed by dark chocolates, coffee, and bitterness from the hops. The 9% ABV is well hidden, making this a smooth drinker. Overall, a well executed take on the style. ~ gyllenbock (372), Stockholm, Sweden

The beer was of course, pitch black, with a nice light brown foam.
The smell was fantastic, nice roasted tones and much chocolate and coffee.
Also contains much roasted flavor notes, chocolate, coffee and even a bit nice licorice tones. Bitterness is great and the finish long and sweet. A wonderful beer. ewestern (198), Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Black beer with a brown head. Smells like a pure malt beverage I have had before along with dark fruits, raisins and licorice. Flavor is the same and thick. Dark roasted malts covered with dark chocolate with dark fruits interlaced. Some lacing, slightly carbonated with an odd finish that lingers a bit. Made me think of my Puerto Rican friend, Agustine, who brings me non-alcoholic malt beverages to work some times. Frovigalning (472), , Sweden

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 26, 2009 Bottle. Pours pitch black with a light brown head that lasts quite well and leaves a good amount of lace. Aroma has strong notes of coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, roasted malt and burnt sugar. Flavour is similar to the aroma but with a surprisingly minimal amount of sweetness. The dark chocolate, the liquorice and the espresso notes are all very prominent but the sweeter elements are a lot more restrained than the aroma would suggest. Overall this is a great imperial stout that hits the nail on the head in a way that few others do. kiefdog (1655), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Bottle. Pours jet black with a big, brown head. Great lacing. Slightly tart, roasted aroma. Notes of dried fruits as well as vinous notes as it warms. Full-bodied flavour. Roasted, bit of tar. Dry finish. Mild bitterness and more roasted notes. Doesn’t feel very complex to me, but it’s a very well-made and –balanced imperial stout. 23-09-09. Ober (1249), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands
