4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma- booze, coffee, raisins, major plums, oak, chocolate, roasted notes
Appearance- viscous black hole, khaki colored head
Taste- leather, coffee, big booze, dark fruits, tobacco, vanilla, chocolate, bitter hops
Palate- very oily, full mouthfeel that coats the palate and throat nicely
Overall- A very sensual offering here. Not super aggressive but very complex in nature. Would definitely like to cellar a bottle of this.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
(From notes 10 Oct, 2012) Bottle. Big brown head; the beer itself being black. Aroma is smoky, coffee, hops and vanilla. Has quite a biting bitterness, flavor of burnt coffee. Carbonation is surprisingly lively, making the mouthfeel a bit stingy. Finish is dry, what I associate with regular Guinness, but also bitterness. A bit warming in the throat.
This felt a bit challenging at first, for some reason. There was hardly any sweetness; a quality I appreciate in imperial stouts. The bitterness was quite straight-on. But nevermind: as it gets warmer and settles, ends up being a very nice imperial stout.

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a thick, black-brown brew, impenetrable by light, and topped by a thick head of dark tan foam. Body is thick and the taste is sweet with a strong coffee palate. Carbonation is very light, bordering on non-existent. Aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol. Finish is sticky-sweet with a bitter coffee roasted aftertaste. I would definitely enjoy this with a bowl of vanilla ice cream

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pitch black with frothy dark brown head that disappears quickly. Cocoa and raisin nose. Tastes of sour chocolate. I was a little disappointed in this one.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep brown head, pitch black.
Not much aroma. Not typical for an imperial stout.
Medium-medium thick body. Some fizz.
Not really sweet, not really ’alcoholy’. But bitterness builds up as the bottle empties, past the ’too much’ point.
Very nice, but not as exceptionel as I expected. At the end the bitterness is too much for my taste.
Purchased in Dagli’ Brugsen, Tornby.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very strong. Roasted flavors smack you in the face. A bit of smoke, creaminess, general deliciosity. Motor oil appearance.

On tap @ Cardinal. Dark as night with a good small but creamy head. Great aroma of dark malts, coffee... Flavors of roasted malts, toffee and a little hops. Full body. Nice bitterness. Lasting taste! Recommended!

British salty licorice is the standout flavor that is bouyed by significant chocolate sweetness. Reminded me of earlier versions of the Storm King (when it used to be good).
I really enjoyed this one.
