IPU is not as intense as the American versions. A good amount of hops but maybe 20 or 30 IPU more could benefit. The texture is amber and extremely cloudy. Not too convinced with the texture of the cloud however the bar man was having problems trying to pour so I’m not too sure if the keg had exploded partially due to heat reasons.
I will definitely recommend this beer but it’s not as flavoursome as I hope. If you enjoy sweet beers of a medium IBU with a litle fruit and spicey kick back then you would love this. I however need to try it on cask again. Had at the Rake thanks to major effort by the bar staff just to pour one. I thought I was getting a Czech pint at first. rmasa (125), Vantaa, Finland
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 13, 2010 Dark orange color, medium white head; greatly hopped aroma is very fruity of slightly citrus, but more likely sweeter fruits for example peach and mango, also some sweet maltiness in the backgroud; medium body, high lively carbonation; flavor is also very fruity, hops almost bite your tongue off, but then the caramel malts come to rescue sewing your wounds with sweet toffee; wonderful hops dominate the flavor from start to finish, in which they only get more aggressive, but they are still not harsh at any point. Just gorgeous. SpencerDB (163), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2010 Poured into a snifter with a amber/orange color that was fairly dark. Thick, thick white head that left fantastic lacing the entire way. Super carbonated which brought out the pleasing aroma of sweet fruit, citrus, light malts, and hops. Bitter taste but not overpowering so it’s still pleasant. Hops come through with a nice aftertaste. gyllenbock (404), Stockholm, Sweden

The beer was cloudy, dark amber. Very large and dirty foam.
Aroma of caramel, hops, honey, floral and of course fruit. Mainly grapefruit and pineapple.
The flavor was very fresh, the beer was not extremely bitter in any way Highly carbonated with a flavor of nuts, cookies, flowers and fruits. Some yeast in the dry finish. A good IPA from Norway. SirLimpsalot (49), Sweden

Lots of hops, oranges, lemon and pineapple.
Could perhaps be a bit more musty. bitterntwisted (13), Perth, Australia

Nice hazy, burnished orange with a fluffy white head. Slightly sweet entry followed by a long spicy bitter finish. Good, but Great Divide Hercules has upped my expectations of this style.
